@Bobby Dowdle- Officially from Newmar, this is incorrect (but widely repeated amongst all dealer technical personnel). I'm guessing other coaches don't run basement heat this way and perhaps this is where the misinformation comes from. Newmar says every coach with an Oasis is equipped with a fully independently controlled heat exchanger in the wet bay.
@Steveupp- you can test your wet bay system by jumping the terminals on the thermostat with a pair of needle nose pliers. It will begin heating immediately if the Oasis has hot coolant. There's no real hysteresis on the little button thermostat and it can cycle on and off quite rapidly.
The heat exchanger is a 6000btu unit and should far and away keep the basement from getting cold in even the worst conditions.
