Wet pegboard bay. Normal or Problem?
In the two month journey it didn't rain until the end. Final night at a KOA on the way back from Sedalia it poured in the morning then it rained during the first 1-2 hours of the drive. Getting home I noticed the bottom half of the pegboard was wet. Don't know if this means a leak somewhere? The wet bay floor cap was secure. Don't know if the water came in during closing the slides. Again, this is new to me, curious if anyone else has seen this or knows what it may be from and if anything I should report to Newmar.

Under no conditions should it be normal. Pegboard will deteriorate under wet/humid conditions. Advise Newmar and ask for assistance /direction.
I would also remove the pegboard and inspect behind it with photos to share with Newmar.

Water inside the bins or anywhere is cause for concern and worth investigating. Definetly not normal.
For starters, since it appeared after a rain, have a close look at the rubber gasket and the fit of the door. The latch may need to be adjusted for a tighter fit.
I got bored one day and did a remodel on this area.
Oops, sorry for the upside down pic. Apple and IRV2 don't seem to like each other.

Neil,
Did you do a mod of your fresh water tank overflow hose. I would remove peg board and investigate.

Neil, did you have the fresh water tank filled beyond 1/2? Mine will leak out the air admittance valve on the fresh water tank if filled beyond 1/2.
Definitely investigate source of leak & report it to Newmar.

that is from rain while going down the road.....water got in from the drive axle throwing it up off the road.....
that compartment is the compartment that is closest to the passenger side drive axle.....coming back from north trail, after picking up my coach in heavy rain, i had some water intrusion in the same compartment. not that bad, however. it is most likely the sealing of the compartment in the lower front portion of the wheel well that is compromised.....
i have not gotten under there to look at it, but it is on my list....
it could be the gasket seal around the door, but i highly doubt it.....a wheel well liner could potentially help, if installed correctly....
the bay on the other side of the coach in the same position is the wet bay....it could also be getting water in it, but it would be pretty difficult to see, given the make up of the bay....it would most likely be behind the melamine enclosure....
this is a common problem on newmars, as far as i am concerned...

Thanks willipaul. I did send the picture to Newmar and will see what they say.
And the fresh water tank was filled via autofill so it's about 2/3rd.

I’m going to mod mine someday too. The pegboard is useless. Needs shelving or even a solid backing with track mounted storage like in my garage. I use a Hafael system which I’d love to put in this bay.

Neal, we came thru same storm you did from Sedalia and mine are all dry. Will be interesting to see what Newmar says is the problem. Congrats on winning one of the Newmar drawings.

We had the same wet pegboard in our 2016 Ventana. Our dealer, NIRVC, found a leak around the wheel well by blowing compressed air around the wheel well towards the pegboard. They filled that gap with caulk.
They replaced the pegboard with a new piece after several months of us road testing the repair.

Neal:
Is that the Hafele OmniTrack that you are using?

Yes. Love it. I’m thinking of pulling the pegboard and put in plywood then mount the OmniTrack.
