I don't know the how or why and I have disconnected mine 3 times. The last time the horns started honking. I will follow Spartans procedure from now on, even though I don't think their own techs and school know it's a procedure.

Today I started my Autoformer install and while I was in the transfer switch I followed the advice I’ve seen on this forum a few times and checked how tight all of the lugs are.

Most of the lugs were snug but there were 2 that needed a half turn or so.

Then as I was pulling out the wires from the reel cord my generator ground slid out as collateral damage. When I investigated how it pulled out I discovered that the screw that was supposed to be holding that wire in had been cross threaded. So it was tight; but not snug to the wire.

So my thanks to all the smart folks who posted in the past about checking the lugs or I probably wouldn’t have known to check. My add-on recommendation is to also pull each wire afterwords.

We have done a few upgrades such as a full motion tv mount for the outside TV, have the RV a full wax job using a 10” orbiting battery operated polisher. Now we plan on tackeling the stove/oven. We plan in taking out the oven and just install a stove top and turning the lower portion into storage. The doors that will be needed we will order from the manufacturer. Also topped off fluids in the house battery since it’s been on the list but, not done for various weak reasons. Next upgrade will be a WiFi/Cell booster since we have been in places where signal is very week.
