Plan and determine what you need. Full size Jeep’s and trucks weigh a lot and that affects, mileage, stopping and “get going” power. No free lunches.

Toad

We tow a 2013 Jeep Compass behind our 2004 Dutch Star. Good around town car, gravel road and slippery going is good. Long trips - 1500 miles home for the holidays and back south again for this 6 ft 3 old guy is the only drawback. 5 Speed Manual transmission. best feature - it's paid for.

My Newmar Bay Star 3626 I tow a Nissan Frontier 4x4. I drain all my water tanks, Frontier on .25 of fuel. Braking system and rear drive shaft disconnect. When we go thru the steep mountains we drive the truck separately.

Since you asked...

We now have a 2018 Canyon Star 3513 and tow a 2019 Chevy Blazer using the NSA Ready Brute Elite towbar/brake. However, I think this may be over your limit to be safe. We used to tow a 2016 Equinox and that towed very easy. The newer Equinoxes are even lighter -- you just have to triple-check which models are flat-towable.

Best of luck and safe travels!

The Spark is exactly what we're looking at.

Jeep 4 door Wrangler. Room in the back for dog(s) or friends. Easy to set up, and great if you go off road. Went to Moab etc in May and it was perfect. Needed/wanted 4 wheel drive at times.

We tow 3 ways, depending on the trip.
#1 is the car hauler 24' enclosed 8K. Cargo is a restored 1931 Chrysler Imperial
#2 is the DW's car on a dolly. 2002 dodge grand caravan
#3 is for my Yamaha WR250R dirt bike, for when I go the the races.

Old "jezebel" does not like #1, does not mind #2, and does not care about #3.
Of course we start out at 8500 ft and usually have to go up from there.
The mod's we made have really made hauling easier.

What tow behind Newmar.

I tow a Honda Fit 5 speed manual. Don’t even know it’s back there. Use brake master system. I don’t know why people tow Jeeps and Trucks. It’s just a dingy, not the main vehicle. I slap it in neutral and that’s it. No restrictions or procedures of any kind. 2400 lbs. Consumers Reports rates it very highly. No so with Jeeps. But, each to their own.

Guide to Toad Selection

Here’s a post I wrote that should help you consider all of the different options.

Toad

We towed a Jeep Cherokee. The Active Drive ll system made it so easy, basically press a button and the system disconnects the transmission. No mileage accrues while under tow, plus it’s a light weight vehicle.

Totally agree with others, the "towing capacity" might be stated as 5,000LBS but that is all dependent on the weight of your coach with everything you want to bring along including fuel and water, food etc. I believe you have a 26,000LBS GCWR so you need to weigh your new RV with all your stuff in it and subtract that from the GCWR. We tow a Jeep wrangler Unlimited and we love it. Easy to put the transfer case into neutral and tows like a dream.

Congrats and best of luck.
