What do you use to hold door open

There are times we want the door to stay open allowing air into coach through screen but the slightest wind blows it shut. Anyone else have this problem and if so what are you doing to keep door open. Thanks for sharing what works for you.

Never had that problem with the two Dutch Stars we had. In fact we had to release the door latch to get the doors to close. They both had very positive latches on them.

Maybe the limiter isn't letting the door open all the way?My door has to be open a full 90* to the coach before it will lock open.

New Bay Star Sport came with plastic pieces that latch the open door to the side of the motorhome. Have seen these at CW. My previous motorhome also had them.

I'd suggest adding a gas strut to the door. It would eliminate having to use something to hold it open.

Those plastic latches to hold the door open are available here at Newmar in multiple colors. They are only a couple bucks. Would that work on your coach?

Also...a funny (?) side note is that if you are camping in bear country, do NOT latch your door open if you have to go outside to unlatch it.

Same here with our Dutch Star! Sometimes I wish it DIDN'T lock open when it hit 90 degrees open!

I have the pos-a-loc on my Dutch Star. It definitely is locked open, and requires you to release the door latches to get it to close.

Thanks for all the feedback. My door is for sure all the way open just not real tight when in the locked position. I will look into the pos a lock or clips that Newmar sells. Did not know about either option.

Any chance you can post a picture of the door clips? Sounds like an easy low cost option. In southern Utah so bears not in the picture but will keep this in mind for our trips to Yellowstone.

I am also interested in the clips mentioned. My 07 MADP has the same problem. The catches on the arms that hold it in the open position look to be worn to the point that a slight breeze or incline will close the door. Also, there is nothing on the front end to connect a bungee cord to. I have tried that already.
