What Electric Compact Pressure Washer

Looking into a compact electric pressure washer to keep in the coach. Any recommendations, where do you keep yours and have you had it for a decent amount of time. Chasing reviews are all over the place. Any insight is more then welcome.

I remembered that DutchStar Don had posted about what he devised. Here’s a link.

I am a fan of the AR Blue line of products. The only issue I have with them is too much plastic. I remove the pump housing from the plastic and mount to the wall.

I did this originally on my 2013 Dutch star ( see this post ) in the water bay.

For my 2019 Dutch star, I used a commercial RV system that was purpose built for the RV industry, the Road Wave. What I discovered is the Road wave is just a commercial AR blue pressure washer. It also takes up too much space in its configuration.

For my 2022 London Aire, I went back to the tried and true AR Blue, shown here.

Here is a picture of what the pump looks like with the plastic housing for comparison.

All of this is installed in the first pass thru bay. I built a wood back board, and covered it with carpet to install the pressure washer.

Here is another option to consider. A bit more pricy, but does offer some interesting features.

https://www.pressurewashersdirect.co...er/p10248.html

Its most advantagous option for me was the option to have hot water supply. I have the newmar hot water option to the gen bay. The unit can take upto 140F input. I try not to use excessive hot water (maybe 100F or so), so far it has lasted 6 yrs of extensive use. I had an old small suitcase carier, so I have it mounted on that and store in one of the side days. The big red nub on the unit can adjust overall psi on the wash. for washing the coach, I usually turn it down some. The wand also has adjustement for pin point (high pressure) or wide spray for lower pressure, as to not damage the body.

I use a 50' air hose on reel mounted in front of the gen, so I can strech the hose all the way around. Have the Spotless mounted next to the reel. All connections are quick connect. For wash just connect the hot supply to the reel input. For rinse, I add the Spotless.

Kranzle > Ar Blue > Active

The Active VE52 is an amazing value on the low end, the Kranzle is the best on the high end.

For vehicle washing you want high volume not high pressure, the actives are 1000 psi but 2 gpm which meets or exceeds the other ones, its just not made as well and cannot be rebuilt. The new Active 2.0 coming out is a step up from the VE52 with better made longer lasting pump but still not rebuildable.

Normal cheap pressure washers from big box stores focus on high psi numbers but have very low gpm which is not great for washing vehicles.

Everything you would want to know here and they even have a special made high flow Kranzle with lower pressure: https://www.obsessedgarage.com/colle...essure-washers

I went with the Road Wave, it's approved by Newmar. Ran a hot and cold water line to it. It's 100% duty cycle when pumping water. I plugged it into a remote control relay ($20 on Amazon) to turn it off while washing. Mounted it in the second bay with a DI tank behind it. No complaints, I would buy it again.

For my 2019 DS, I bought the Green Works electric pressure washer from Lowes. They're still just $99.00.

I wasn't looking for something that would clean a driveway. I wanted something that was quiet, easy to use and small. With this little Green Works unit, I can place it in the middle of the coach and reach front to rear. using the outlet in the center storage bay. It has enough power to wash and rinse the coach. You can even add a soap gun if desired.

Project Farm did a great review of small pressure washers and the CAT came out on top especially washing a car. The CAT is a rebranded Active VE52 and for $250 you will not get anything close, again it's about water volume over pressure.

If you do go super cheap you might want to get a slightly larger tip to get more flow and lower the pressure, you won't get much more flow out of the cheap ones but it does help and keeps the pressure down to avoid damaging anything.

I run hot water thru my AR blue. Like dutchstar Don and others have pointed out, pressure isn't all that important.

Northern tools sells lots of accessories for pressure washers, and is where I purchased most of my adapters, wands, etc.

The store brand cheap units (ar blue, sunjo, etc) all use a 15mm end, but have a unique m22 insert. You can get adapters for various sizes. I chose to use quick connects on the end of the hose. I also went with 3/8" ID hose vs the 1/4, as I wanted more volume of water and less pressure.

By getting a quality hand grip with quick connects, you can easily add extension and change tips, foam cannon, etc very easy.

My goto end is an adjustable pattern spray end.

A little bit invested in these tools makes it much easier to wash, which means you will do it more often.

I wash my windshield several times a day while driving, especially in the summer months when bugs are plenty.

Very true a good set of accessories makes a big difference but it doesn't come cheap. Pretty universal recommendation is a better pressure hose, both longer (50 ft) and much better material for anti kink, also better guns, fittings, and a good foam cannon.

Obsessed garage sells top not accessories and kits but its not cheap, then again that guys is obsessed with pressure washing vehicles: https://www.obsessedgarage.com/pages...washer-project

Pressure Hose: 100ft, anti kink non marring: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This hose is long enough to get around the coach and toad.

The reel I purchased from Northern Tool is $169 and easily holds the entire 100ft.

Yep that Uberflex is a good hose and good deal on that reel, but already tripling the cost of a cheap pressure washer for just a hose and reel, a good foam cannon also isn't cheap. Some people just might have hard time justifying it without realizing how much better it makes using the machine.

Again I wouldn't even look at the < $100 machines and start with if your going to invest that in accessories and setup just go with a VE52 for $250 minimum.

The AR Blue that I have purchased is this one:
AR Blue Clean BC2N1HSS New Electric Pressure Washer 2300 PSI, 1.7 GPM

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It costs $299.00 and as shown above, breaks down to a very small device to be wall mounted.

Road wave makes a great pressure washer, but the space conservation was more important to me. I didn't want to lose the floor space.

Unfortunately the consumer line AR Blue's are just rebranded machines the same as sold by Stanley and don't perform well compared to the $250 Active only getting about 1.3 actual gpm vs 1.9 gpm at similar pressures.

The Pro AR line are good but they are $600+ machines.

You can see it listed in the spreadsheet and tested on video here:
