What is the fuel capacity of my 2015 4018 DS

Can't remember if my 4018 DS fuel tank is 90 or 100 gal. Have never run it lower than taking 50-60 gal to refill but one trip this summer may be closer to 70 gal between sizable truck stop stations.

Will it be unadvisable to run the tank this empty? I can fill up about 1/2 way but it would be in a small Loves station or ConocoPhillips.

The 40' DS is 100 gallons. The 43's and larger are 150. You DON'T want to run out of fuel. Anything over 550 -600 miles is dangerously close to running out.

I get down to 1/4 tank before refueling if I know I am in an area with a lot of fuel options. We don't run the generator or Oasis while driving so no concern there.

If I am heading into an unfamiliar area with less or uncertain fuel options I will refuel at 1/2 tank.

Tank size is really imprecise. They're usually a bit bigger than what's printed in the brochure, but it's not a good idea to test that by running low. There's a bunch of gunk in the bottom and you don't want to be sucking that up into your fuel system. Everyone has their own comfort level on when to refuel. We stop once a day even though we don't need to.

How does a low fuel level cause “gunk in the bottom” to be sucked up into the fuel system? The pickup tube is on the bottom of the tank all the time. I’ve run both diesel and gasoline tanks down below the low fuel light coming on without a problem. My motorcycles all have the petcock on the bottom of the tank, draining the bottom of it from the first drop. Filters are there to catch any gunk. One would think that the most gunk getting into your fuel system would be immediately after refueling when any gunk is suspended, but nobody ever says to park after refueling to give time for the gunk to settle to the bottom.
