What is this called

When I crank up my RV this part makes sort of a buzzing sound. It used to do it a couple of times and stop now it does it not stop and the only way to stop it from doing this is to turn on the front vent or AC. I need to know what this is called so that I may research the problem and or repair it.

It looks to be the vacuum pump for the Evans system.

Evans wiring system.

Evans Parts

Info found in QT's 1 & 2.
Not sure you can service it but looks like a couple of screws on ends of plastic face plate that may remove plate and maybe a rubber seal behind it, there maybe something loose or scrapping on fan pump that is causing the buzz.

Mine did this until I figured out it was trying to close one of the dash AC vent dampers.
Turn the control dial to the off position and it should cycle to the closed position and shut off.
Hope this helps, Mike

You might use some silicone spay in the intake hose to lube it.

That is the vacuum pump. I don't believe you have a problem with the pump if it shuts off when you turn on A/C or vent. What you have is a vacuum leak when control is in other positions. You need to check all hoses and dash control.

Roger that, mine had a kink in the suction hose between the pump and the step up fitting. Sure made a difference in the AC/Heater performance.
