What's The Name Of This Bracket? - And How Do I Adjust It Properly?

I just ordered two new struts for the pegboard bay and I have two other bays where the above bracket doesn't function properly. One is the Electrical Bay and the other is the battery bay.

The brackets have been removed twice and I have tightened and loosened the back up nut several times to keep the strut support from either hanging up or not moving at all.

Any advice you can give is appreciated.

It's Newmar part number 51077, here's the info from comnet:

Vendor Part # - 9683205-L
STD
Replaces 66328 11/18/2004
BRKT BAGG DOOR STRUT ADJ LH 02

There's both a LH and a RH for your coach, at least according to comnet. You can access comnet by going here, clicking the "Access ComNet" link and navigating catalog - model year to your coach.

Thanks, I knew about going to ComNet but didn't really know the parts name. I really appreciate it.

Do you, or anyone else, happen to know if trying to adjust these things is going to be fruitful or should I just suck it up and get new ones?

Charlie, I use Boshield T9 on all parts of my basement doors, entry steps etc etc etc. Nothing else I've used does the job of T9.
Besides Amazon, I've also seen it at Camping World.

I've used it for a while as well. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The problem seems to be that they are not adjusted properly to allow the strut to slide without jambing up in the bracket. I've tried loosening them and tightening them and can't find a happy medium.

The plastic washers have to be flat with no dents to slide properly. The tooth like sections on the bracket can get bent a little and need to be straight. They can be a PITA and don't always slide good. The only adjustment is how tight the ball joint stud is.

The plastic washers found in hardware stores are too thick and Newmar did not sell them anymore the last time I checked,

So, I guess it's unplanned obsolescence? Yeah, I noticed my plastic washers are cupped a bit on the bays that aren't working correctly. I wonder if I can find a compatible thickness in a fender washer or similar?. I will go down to the coach and pull one apart today.

Good luck finding any, all I found were too thick and I looked in more than one state. I still have a few since found out they were no longer available I bought all Midway RV had in stock. When we go back home I can send you what I have left since I don't need them anymore.

Those things really can be a pain in the rear. Most all of mine were hanging up. I found the proper size nylon washers at a well stocked hardware store, but had to drill the holes out from 1/4" to 5/16". This worked on some of the brackets, but not all. Some were still sticky. Even after silicone spray and using a hammer to straighten the teeth on the bracket. I even tried using metal fender washers which seemed to help on one door. I still had a couple that just would not cooperate, so I ordered replacement parts from Newmar. The new ones work great. No more sticking. And, the new ones use metal washers just like I used on a couple of doors. I'd suggest on those that you are really having a problem with to throw in the towel and order new ones. Its a whole lot less hassle.
