What's this?
I have a 2012 Baystar 2901 and on the bottom of the cabinet above the sofa/sleeper is a black round do-hikkie that sort of looks like a microphone.
My only guess would be a sensor of some kind, anybody have any ideas.

Sounds like a Temp. Sensor for the heating and Airconditioning. If it looks like this then that's what it is.

I have two of these. One under a china cabinet in the living area and one on a wall in the bedroom. Mine are connected to the furnace & A/C thermostat.

I was just about to ask the same question! That little thing had me stumped. Now on to the next thing on the list.

How very strange. Just today, here we are sitting out in the middle of the Nevada desert east of Reno and my BIL walks into our coach and points to the little knob and says, "What's that do?"
I said, "I haven't got a clue, but I've wondered about it since we bought this rig."
My wife says, "Let me get on the forum and post that question."
Now we don't have to.

We have a sensor about in the middle of the motorhome at floor level-it is for the propane/gas sensor to shut off the propane at the tank if it "smells" a leak. Can't think why a temp sensor would be at floor level.

DESERTMAN, if the device near the floor has a blinking green led its your LP Gas detector not heat indicator as the one in bedroom or in your heater & AC control in the display area on on a cabinet wall.

87Rockwood: Who mentioned floor level? Ours is located shoulder high as you come in the entry door.
007: I do appreciate your input. But after 20+ years of RVing, I am quite familiar with our LP gas as well as CO2 monitors -- but others may not be.

Propane is heavier than air, so it settles to the ground. Having the LPG sensor on the bottom of the wall near the floor is appropriate for detecting any leaks, because that's where the leaking propane gas will accumulate. :-)
