What's this and what's behind it?

Hello all,


Great mystery. This is in a 2007 Kountry Star 3910. There is a cut out out of the wood panel below the cupboard where the washer/dryer is. In the bedroom, to the left of the wardrobe. It's a metal grill with very small openings. I can't find a way to open it, or see what's behind it. Really puzzled as to what it does, why it's there, what's behind it, and how do I get to it? Thank you!

Well you know it's not a speaker and probably not a dryer vent.
What is on the outside of the coach opposite the grille ? A vent ?

Have you shined a flash light in the grille ? What did you see ?
Heater tubing ? Or just an empty space ?

Most likely the back side of the furnace.

There will be an drain pipe vent behind there which needs air.
Just my thought.

Cold air return for the furnace OR a cold air return from the heated water ( holding tank ) bay in the basement.

With the furnace running hold a Kleenex in front of the grill to see if air flow is into or, out of the opening.

Rear auxiliary heat for the bedroom. If it is, there should be a switch on the dash controlling a two speed fan. Behind that grill is a fan and radiator heated by engine coolant.

I have something like that in my coach. In my case there is a subwoofer behind it, and some wiring for the Bose system.
