Where do you look?

We've been flipping back & forth between a new Ventana LE and a used Ventana. I think we're leaning toward purchasing a used Ventana now but we have to find THE one first.

Where do you look? I've been checking RV Trader, RV Online, & rvt.com. It looks like most of the same dealers advertise in them. Are there other sites or are there dealers that don't advertise on those 3?

Karen - Good luck with your search. If you're going to be looking used then you should narrow down what year(s) and floor plans you'd be interested in. After checking online I'd go to or call a couple of Newmar dealers and tell them what you'd like. Most dealers network used motorhomes. That is if one dealer takes a Ventana in on trade but either has too many, or their dealership doesn't sell a lot of Ventana's they'll usually let other Newmar dealers know and sell it to them before advertising it. That's how we found our current coach. The original owner traded the coach in NC, but a dealer in TX bought it before it ever got on the market.

P.S. the "2 boxers and 1 hubby" is better then the other way around

Yes, Craigslist is a good place beyond the Big 3 you mentioned. As to dealership advertising there, it's really up to the dealership. Within dealerships it's typically up to the sales person to pick a unit and list it. In those situations they take turns (the sales guys). You could also check Camping World. If you're looking online with Camping World you will, most likely, get a message from an online sales person. Interacting with them (via text messaging through your browser) you may likely find the Ventana you are looking for. My assumption is that you know the floor plan (model number) you have in mind.

Good luck in your quest.

We're looking for a 2010 or newer used 3433 or maybe a 3634. We want 4 slides instead of 3 for a couple of reasons... (1) the FWS just look like they're meant to have problems and (2) they don't seem as deep as the smaller driver's side slide.

DH wasn't on board with the used Ventana as opposed to a new LE until we did more research on weights. While we'd probably be okay weight wise with the LE, we'd be close especially if DH continues to purchase fly fishing gear.

We missed what looked to be a nice unit at Steinbring....2011 Ventana for 154,900 that has a sales pending sticker on the ad now. There is a 2010 in CA but that's a haul from southern Indiana. We need/want to stay with the shorter units so we can get into & out of our drive. We'll have to lengthen the garage with either of those coaches and can do that easily enough but anything longer would make it really difficult.

I'll contact a couple of dealers and let them know what we're looking for. Thanks for that tip! I hear so much criticism of Camping World RV Sales that I'm not sure we want to deal with them but like with most places, there are probably many more that have positive experiences. I've been checking Craigslist too off & on.

I thought that maybe with the 2015 models coming out that some owners may be bitten by the bug and trade their coach in for a new one.

Thanks!

Karen welcome to the Forum. Not sure where you and your DH are from but we bought our 2005 DSDP from Independence RV in Winter Garden, Florida and they have been excellent.

You could also check out PPL in Texas. They are a very large RV consignment business.
Both are on the Internet and keep going to the site because inventory turns over quite quickly.

Best of luck on your search and keep us posted.

Happy RV'ing

Karen,

I'm currently parked about 5 miles from the largest Newmar dealer in the country, North Trails in Fort Myers, FL. Since you have narrowed your search, I would make contact with them and with Lazy Days. Maybe others. If you have a salesman watching the pending incoming for what you want, that will give you a jump on the market. LD in particular have many of their incoming trade ins sold when they hit the lot.

We're in southern Indiana, not far from Louisville, KY. We wouldn't mind traveling some to get the coach we want so Florida is in the running!

I hadn't thought of "reserving" the coach one wants! It makes sense though since the model we're interested in seems to be rare on the RV for sale sites.

I'll contact our closest Newmar dealer as well as North Trails and Independence. I have checked PPL occasionally as well.

Thanks again!

Karen,
I just did my purchase of a brand new 7 year old Ventana 3330 in November. If I can answer any questions you have on that size just PM me. Wayne

P.S. Boxers are cool!

We have a boxer named Cody! His side kick is Gypsy & they're are our 3rd & 4th boxers. We just love the breed!

I don't know if I can get DH interested in anything older than a 2010 or not. He has that year in his head as the "cut off" date. Thanks for the offer... I'll work on him.

You were looking at a 2011 Ventana for $ 154,900. You do realize that the discounted price on the new 2014 Ventana LE should be around $ 165,000 ?
