Also, the museum in Deming is awesome..... something of everything and it's well organized.

Gulf Shores State Park, Alabama

OTA-Great
Satellite-Great
No WiFi, No Cable
FHU, 50 Amp

This is the best state park we've stayed at in the SE so far. So much to see and do. With access to the beach, the pier, golf and 28 miles of trails...if you're bored, it's your fault. Plus, the Navel Air Museum in Pensacola is close by which is awesome!

Gulf Shores State Park is also great in that unlike most state parks with a 2-week limit you can get a monthly rate and spend the whole winter snowbirding season there. It's full with winter visitors at that time until spring break. Agree, lots to do in the area. Buying the huge red shrimp fresh from the boats is a special treat on the grill!

A nice day/evening trip is to take your car on the Dauphin Island ferry and visit the beautiful Bellingrath Gardens..... especially nice filled with Christmas lights during the holidays.

Home again

Well after 7351 miles and 29 states, in five weeks, we are home again, working on projects, feeding horses, making some wine, and pouring money into our grand-kids. Time for another oil change, trans service, and some misc repairs. So all is back to normal.

However, I will never again try to do that many miles in that short a time riding an F53 which is, from my experience, basically a delivery truck. So now Im shopping for a newer Ventana or New Air with my goal being to improve the ride and towing power, but keep it at 35’ max.

Looking forward to being out on the road again....

We love our Ventana. We went from a Canyon Star, gas, to our Ventana, diesel, such a difference in the ride and so much quieter. You will enjoy a trip so much more. Sounds like you had a lot of places to go to.

We're thinking about doing a month there next December (2020). Any tips on getting reservations? I checked this year as an example and it looked like it fills up fast.

SAT - unobstructed

OTA - good

WiFi - unavailable

I thought this would just be a crappy stop in the middle of nowhere as I make my way west. I think this may top CG's that I'm going to experience in the road ahead. What a gem in the rough. Huge lots (typical of SP's) water and 30A electric, dump station on site of course. Great weather, windy at times, breathtaking views. Small CG I reserved months ago. Limited reservation spaces but multiple parks in the area.

Looks real nice. We will pass through in late Nov. might try that one. How much is it? Looks like booking via phone is the only option.

Out at the KOA Campground near Santa Cruz, CA. Halloween theme weekend. 3 -4 weekends in Oct all Halloween based. Kids events trick-or-treat, kids candy beverages for the adults. Year 2 for us... Ground towed the jeep. Will hit up a nearby coastal restaurant tonight. Weird (hot) weather, 90's at the beach due to no on-shore breeze.

Thanks for the tip twogypsies! We're booked for next year (maybe FT? &#128526 and would love to spend a month here. It is so relaxing, quiet, clean, etc. At the same time, the bike riding and running opportunities are endless!
