It’s the northern most CG on 1 before it heads inland to Leggett. There’s 3 or 4 separate CGs in the Union Landing park, but this one has the nicest cliffside spots and is the least crowded. At this end of the park there are only 8 sites. Very pleasant but also very sought after and of course no reservations.

The entrance is across from Pacific Heights Dr., 2.3 miles south of where 1 leaves the coast for Leggett.Well worth the trip and if it’s full there are plenty of other sites in the other 3 CGs in the complex. We got lucky with site 95.

Also there is a lot of heavy construction repairing the one lane section of Hwy 1 between Fort Bragg and Westport so best to approach from the North if possible, and this may be why there were so many sites available during this era of Covid escapees packing CGs beyond capacity.

Westport beach RV park was like a refugee camp completely packed with an additional 30 or so tents on the beach. Crazy!

Skidaway State Park, Savannah

Nice, clean State park 25 min from Savannah. Nice secluded spots. Some pull throughs with full hookup. Due to bookings we spent one night on 30A then moved to 50A spot. No sewer. No cable. No sat with trees. No WiFi. T-Mobile gets 2 bars.

Nice walking trails up to 5 miles. Clean and feels safe. Good spot if you aren’t looking for luxury and want to get into Savannah.

Spent the weekend in central IL at Kickapoo Recreation area. Got in some kayaking and single track riding with my boy with just 2 weeks before he heads off to college.

Nice little park, electric only, but for a weekend not a problem. Even caught a live blues band by the lake Saturday night.

Back in Las Vegas (Home base)

After 7 weeks on the road back at home base - the Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort (LVM Resort). Should have stayed on the road in the NW longer - its still hot here. If you are coming through Las Vegas stop in and stay a few nights at the resort. There are 5 pools to help you handle the heat.

If not for the rifle range at the top of the valley it would be a 12/10! Nicest resort we’ve stayed at. Great coffee in the office, great Mexican and Italian food in town. Free shuttle.

Yes - it does need a good cleaning after the rain we drove through a couple days before getting home.

We are at Camp McCumber, Shingletown CA. There should be 350 kids having a camping experience, instead 8 of us rent the counselors spots. The camp is all dressed up and nowhere to go.Click image for larger version

Kamp Komfort in Carlock, IL

Another overnight stop in Carlock, IL at the Kamp Komfort RV park. It's 1.5 miles off the exit, but you end up right next to I-74. There is also a train track nearby but we did not hear any trains and very little highway noise (go Newmar!).

Contact free check-in, 50 amp FHU, long pull through sites, gravel sites and gravel roads.
