Indigo Bluffs in Empire, MI

We're still in Michigan, this time in Empire, MI which is the gateway to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Fall colors are starting to come out.

Our campground is the RV Resort side of the Indigo Bluffs RV Park and Resort. Several other Newmars on this side and in the RV Park, including a vintage "bumper pull" Kountry Star trailer.

Sites and roads are paved, with 50 amp FHU, poor OTA TV coverage, and strong Verizon signal.

Heading back south. For a couple of nights set up at the FMCA Campground in Cincinnati. The staff here has been working on sewer and water issues for more than 24 hours, just announced the sewer lines are hooked up again, hoping to get the water back on yet this evening. They've got a big hole dug out the back of the cul de sac.Click image for larger version

We are settled in at WestRidge (inside Mountain Falls) in Lake Toxaway NC until late October. Colors are starting, as are the weekend crowds. :-). Still excited to see all the hundreds of waterfalls in Transylvania county (on weekdays. At dawn.)

They've got a big hole dug out the back of the cul de sac.

The leak was found on Thursday before we arrived and the water was off at arrival. Apparently the leak had been going on for a long time and also undermined the sewer line adjacent to it.

On Friday morning as they were digging and a guy was in the hole, people began dumping tanks, which they never said not to do. I got the impression they were not aware until then that the adjacent cracked line was the sewer line...

Overnight stop at the Escapees park just north of Knoxville. We've used this park for overnights many times, never bothered with the water and sewer hookups. This time we had to. For various reasons we've been without a sewer hookup for over 5 days, desperately needed to do laundry. The 30' of sewer hose I have onboard wasn't enough! Neighbor loaned me a bit more.Click image for larger version

Markin Glen Campground in Kalamazoo, MI

We headed south and are in Kalamazoo, MI staying at the Markin Glen County Park Campground. Nice county park ($30/night) with paved roads, paved sites, 50 amp FHU, and right next to a nice paved bike trail. Weather has improved, with highs in low 60s today.

Walmart and Sundermeier RV Park

Stopped overnight in Rantoul, IL and stayed in a nice Walmart, just off I-57. No traffic furniture and quiet parking lot (this store is not open 24 hours due to Covid-19).

Today we settled into our spot in St. Charles, MO (near St. Louis) at Sundermeier RV Park. Sites and roads are paved, 50 amp FHU, WiFi, pull-thru and back-in, wide spots. Lots of OTA TV, strong Verizon signal. The 240 mile Katy Trail (bicycles and pedestrians) and the Missouri River pass right behind the campground.

Wow...We would love to see the the Katy trail...as long as it is as flat as the Van Fleet and Withlacoochee here in Florida. (We are content as flat-lander cyclists...)

Charlie,

Good to hear from you!

Yes, the Katy Trail is as flat as the Van Fleet and Withlacoochee, but it is crushed limestone instead of smooth pavement. We'll be in Webster, FL (50 miles west of Orlando) for the winter, and will ride on those 2 trails many times. We'll be staying at the Florida Grande Motorcoach resort in Webster - come see us.
