We are very interested in ordering a 2017 DSDP. I know the dealer meeting is in early April, where they will announce the lineup. I need to SEE them before I order one.

Do you know which dealer(s) will have good inventory of the 2017's first? How soon after they announce the lineup might I be able to visit one of these dealers and view all of the floor plans?

I don't mind flying/driving, it's important. I know the big shows will have this, but I was hoping to order earlier in the year.

Is it a particular floor plan, variety of exterior/interior colors, or just want to see any 2017 DSDP?

Hi Mike,
We are deciding between the 37xx and 40xx models (assuming there will be something new in this segment, they seem to come out with something new every year). There is nothing like spending time in a model, imagining how you would live in it, where things might be stored, where it might need more light, outlets, etc... I also want to see the exterior colors in person, I've discovered they can look very different from brochures and photos. This is too big of a purchase for me to do from my imagination.

North Trail RV in Ft. Myers, Florida is the largest Newmar dealer in the country.

Hi Candy,

This past year, we found it impossible to find one dealer that had most of the 40' and 43' floor plans sitting in one location, at the same time and especially early in the model year season. I suspect most Newmar dealers ( and many retail customers) are putting orders in during the April Newmar dealer meeting. So no one dealer will dominate all the production slots. It could be that in order to see each of the 38' and 40' floor plans you might need to visit a several dealers and over several months. Could be a challenge. GARYKD points out that North Trail is the largest Newmar dealer, and being so I would bet they will get several DSDP early in the season; but I doubt they will have each of the 38' and 40' floor plans at their dealership at one time. We ended up seeing the different interior and exterior design choices at the Hershey RV show, where RVOne will have better than a dozen coaches, though not all DSDP.

Hi Raskul,

Transwest in Frederick Colorado is rapidly becoming a large full line Newmar dealer and usually has several stocking units. They also send Techs out to Motorcoach Country Club in Indio CA. each Winter to work on customer coaches while they're there. The best place to see a new unit early might just be at the Factory in Nappanee. We've seen new units at the factory in May, it's also the best place to put together your order and then you can bid it out to several dealers and take delivery at the factory.

Hi raskul,
If you still have questions late in this year, consider going to the Tampa RV Super Show. While Hershey advertises it is the largest show in the country, I find nothing can complete with the Tampa show. It is bigger, attendance is much larger, there are about 50 Newmar coaches on display, all the Newmar executives are there and everyone needs an excuse to travel to Florida in January. The show is January 18 - 22, 2017.

A 2017 DSDP 4041 with a 17K front axle (from the 43xx) could get a fever burning in me.

Thanks, all. I wish Newmar would build one standard version of each current-year floor plan and keep them in a showroom somewhere. They could be end-of-year specials when they run out of chassis.
