Well, in addition to "Who's at Camp Newmar" we had 2 outside makes that took Newmar up on their factory service offer.

1 Travel Supreme and 1 Holiday Rambler, top of the line Navigator. I couldn't find the owner of the TS, but did catch up with Gene, the owner of the HR.

I asked him how his visit and service went. He reported that he did get some strange looks after he hooked up in front of the reception office. I guess many Newmar owners are not yet aware of this servicing offer. Gene thought it was great and appreciated the professional service.

So, cheers to Newmar. Hopefully others will come and try it out.

The TS came in the main lot saw a space with no motor home parked there on Saturday 6/20 moved cone and backed in. When he was told that the space was occupied and that the owners sewer hose and water hose was still there and he had to move, he went to the over flow and I don't think he been around.
I was told by one of the techs that one week they almost had more OB's than Newmars.
They were able to fix partition wall on our coach that was separating from outside wall, slide had been adjusted wrong and was pulling outside wall away from partition wall.
Remember if you booked appointment before June 1, you should request the $85.00 rate if you are there for pay work.
They were able to complete our work in 1 1/2 days had been shedule for 3-4 days.

Could someone explain "Camp Newmar" to a new member of this forum ? When I was at Newmar I saw many coaches parked in a corner lot on Cheyenne street and some along Delaware that looked like they were hooked up. Is that Camp Newmar ? What is the criteria for staying there ? Is it strictly for service work or can you camp there for other reasons ? I' m asking because I want to visit when my new coach is being built in mid-july and may want to bring my current coach for a couple days. Thanks ----

The main lot with full hook-ups is for service work. The overflow lot is just that a overflow parking area.
Now that being said very rarely does the overflow lot fill up and no one will say anything to you unless they need the site.
The overflow has water and electric with a dump station at the main lot.
You should also let the main office know where you are parked and why you are at the factory. Enjoy your visit.

I believe those in for service take priority over others who may be there for the tour of just an overnight stop.

Some folks prefer the few concrete sites on Delaware St. as there is much less dust when it's dry and no muck when it rains.

Say, Joe, what's the "$85 dollar rate" you're referring to in your 6/26 post above??

You stated that the reason you are going to be at camp Newmar is to see your new coach being built. I don't know, but I would say the fact they are building you a new coach should pack some weight.. If there are no cones blocking that spot, I would say help yourself. First come, first serve..VACMAN

Planning on heading to Camp Newmar on 7/22 with current coach (to see new coach build). Only possible hang-up is party coming to look at my Winnie on tues. nite who seems interested in buying. If they do, I still plan on going but will need to stay in Motel since I want to be there at least two days. Can anyone advise if it will be problem getting room without reservation ? Amish Inn - best bet ??

The Amish Inn is across the street and about the only hotel in town.

Just rode by the Amish Inn and it looks like there are plenty of vacancies.

It wouldn't hurt to call them and see if there's something going on that would fill the rooms.

Not 100% sure if I'll be here, but I probably will be here.

I won't know until Tuesday when they return my coach.

Dirk - took your advice and contacted Nappannee Inn. All kinds of rooms - still don't know whether I will bring OB coach or hotel it, find out tomorrow nite. Hopefully, it will be my first Camp Newmar visit.
