I’ve heard stories about cones being moved, but this is over the top! I hope they are gone when our coach is returned tomorrow. If not, we may start selling tickets to a “Rumble in Nappanee”. Got to offset the cost of repairs somehow.....
Where did they move your stuff? Is it the actual owner's moving stuff or the Newmar staff parking the motorhomes after doing work on them?

When I am there in September I may have to set me up a table/chairs and have a drink or two to keep my spot. But being I will only be there for two nights I will not need FHU's, but I will need power. Will it be better to bring a full tank of water or fill up my tank after I get there?

my guess is that it's someone who paid for FPU and feels they should go to the head of the line in priority.....when you pay 5k for something, it changes your viewpoint....just a guess, of course....could just be a jerk that didn't pay 5k.....

the new campground will take some of the pressure off, i think, as everyone with a scheduled service appointment will have a spot assigned to them, and everyone with a FPU will have a spot assigned to them.....however, this will limit the amount of appointments that can be scheduled...because they need an assigned spot....they can overbook the service bays now....but not when each apt gets a spot...plus, what about the inevitable time overruns....those folks will most likely have time in the new campground, but if that time runs out, and then they need another day or two, in order to keep the schedule for the new campground in place, those folks will need to access the overflow or old CN.....we all know the stories about only needing to be there for 3 days and it turns into 7 or 8.....and another thought....should the new spots in the campground be only for folks who are staying with their coach during the service process ? i dropped my coach off, and flew back and forth....couldn't stay.....so should my coach be in the old CN or overflow, rather than taking up a spot in the new campground ? there are plenty of those situations, and i tend to think that folks staying with their coaches should get priority in accommodations.....

and there will still be folks passing through, to do a factory tour, or meet with the design staff to spec out a custom build, or newmar owners using it for a quick overnight on the way through....so for the FHU sites, the demand will still be there.....overflow as well...

[QUOTE=Indy Glenn;4827525]

Anyone know the latest rumors?

I have an appointment on 10 July, I thought I might get an email about overnight accommodations (Spot) in the new CG - - guess not. [QUOTE=Indy Glenn;4827525]

I was told by our tech yesterday the grass is getting green and will be open the end of June. The pictures on here don't indicate that.

Good Luck on that e-mail, I never did get one. I contacted service twice several days before we dropped our coach off and never did get a response. I guess the main thing is to have a confirmed appointment 4 months in advance.

The part about people stealing sites, just freak-in amazes me

We will be there on the 10th for an 11th through the 16th enlistment. Looking forward to seeing you then.

Who's team has your coach assigned to them?

Hawkeye,

I just lost 30 minutes in Google after seeing the word “Sheepadoodle” in your signature line. LOVE! WANT!

I think one of the reason people "steal" sites is that the cones are not properly managed. I saw a couple of sites with cones and they were not occupied for 3 nights. Newmar should address that. Sometimes folks drive over to the service center, their coach is completed early and they leave from the service center leaving a cone on the site they have now abandoned. Just not a good system and Newmar should address that. New folks coming in don't really have a way to know the true status of a site regardless of cones as they are not a reliable method of control.

I did not count the # of sites at the service center campground but read that it contains 62 sites and the service building contains 52 bays. Since there are more sites than bays they should be able to balance things out if they make an effort to manage it.

Is that really an appropriate use of sites intended for service customers? There's a commercial RV park about 3 miles down the road.

I talked to a couple of folks who were "staying a couple of extra days" to tour the area. I just don't think that's appropriate and it's another cause of "stolen" sites.

When I got my paperwork in January, it indicated we would be in the new CG, with an assigned spot at check-in. However, the CG was supposed to be finished in the spring and from what I can tell, it still isn't in operation.

Pictures posted here look like it's getting close. But still have no idea if it will work as planned.

That's what I thought 8 weeks ago.

I checked out the work, paid the bill, they moved the coach into the driveway of the new CG today and I went grocery shopping. Came back, loaded the groceries into the coach, hooked up the jeep and am now sitting in the Overflow parking. Lots of orange cones in the Overflow which I ran over (Just kidding) as I set up to back into an unoccupied space. Man it is so good to be back in the coach.

In the past, from everything I have read and experienced, all have been welcome at Newmar. Sometimes people are just curious about the product (perhaps future buyers) some are planning their custom coaches, some are watching their coach being built, and yes, some are really just passing through. No one ever said that the sites are for “service” customers only. What is inexcusable is the stealing of sites. I think there is generally room for everyone, but maybe not everyone gets FHU’s. Since there is a dump available, not having a sewer is not a hardship in my opinion, but the DYKWIA’s are always out there and some even drive Newmars.

For an update on the new CN - seems grass is growing everywhere, especially in the back. The others are at varying degrees of growing. As for who will manage it - Sue at the front desk says it's not her. Access to the CG will be programmed in by service date and the p/w will be your coach number - only active the duration of your service dates.
As for when it will open, it's any bodies guess from us outsiders. It looks ready now. It does seem the back row spaces are wider than the front row spaces. As mentioned, I also heard 62 spaces and that 10 of them are for FPU/CPU customers.
I hope all the drama about getting a FHU site and stealing a site ends when the new CN opens. I didn't even bother going near the FHU area and pulled directly into the overflow.

Yesterday after getting out of service at 2:30 there were a couple FHU sites without cones, but we decided to just stay at "our" site in the overflow. I don't need any added drama.

We should be done tomorrow. Staying Saturday to make sure everything is ok, leaving Sunday so the site will be available for next weeks service folks. Some come in Saturday, but most seem to arrive Sunday.

Note, our service tech has been excellent as has the tech that assisted him on some items.

Ken and I are neighbors in the overflow. I think there are only 3 coaches in overflow.
Ken it was a pleasure meeting you this afternoon.
