The polished tile looks great. I have seen rigs with the matte (dull) finish and do not care for them. I have not slipped nor have I come close.

Just a reminder. For those with heated floors. Do not put rugs with any rubber backing on the floor while the floor heat is on. You will cause that area to overheat and potentially burn out the elements in that area or the entire floor section. From the floor heat manufacturer manual. If you doubt that’s the case then put your rubber backed rug down while the floor heat is on and, then lift up the rug and feel how much hotter it is under the rug compared to the rest of the floor. My grandkids were sleeping on a blow up thermarest mattress and turned on the floor heat unknowingly. Luckily, I caught this minutes later. The floor beneath those rubber backed mattress pads was so hot we could not walk on that area for over 15 minutes. Thankfully, the floor did not burn out this time.
So, putting a non rubber backed rug on the floor will create a slipping problem far greater than walking on the bare tile. I also found this out the hard way. My dog is a sloppy drinker and can get water all over the floor. Never had a slipping problem.
We love the high gloss flooring as it gives a very high end look to the coach.

Thanks for that heads up. We have heated floors, along with the factory driver & passenger floor mat. Now you got me wondering what the backing is on that as I don’t recall??

Floor heat does not extend to the cockpit flooring. It stops about the cockpit seat backs.

Also, don't have the floor heat on when the slides are in, for the same reason you don't want a rubber backed rug on it. At the dealer, someone had cranked up the floor heat and when I put the slides out the floor was quite warm where they had been.

Thanks, that’s great to know. That full cockpit Newmar mat does a great job and I’d hate to lose it. And those heated tile floors, on a cool morning are also one of our favorite features
Say, we were just looking at the Fort Wilderness campground for a visit. I’ve read that the roads in and out are kind of tight, how big rig friendly is that Park if you don’t mind me asking?
Thanks again

Could be just fine. Check that previous owner was not a guy with the last name of Heisenberg.

I know rugs without the rubber backing are not really safe, but I read some where you are not suppose to use them either when the floor heat is on.
I love the floor heat would not want one with out it and I also love the shiny floors.

We have 2 3x5’ carpets that we roll out on the shiny living area heated floors in our DS. They are fairly thick, fiber backed carpets. The only thing that slips on the carpets is the mini doodle dog when he is flying around after his toys that we throw.
Sometime back there was a long thread on carpet over heated floor concerns with many differing opinions. Using a heat gun I checked the temp of the floors with and without the carpet. There was never more than a 10 to 15 percent difference between the floor temp under the rug and areas away from the carpets.
We use the floor heat a lot and after 3+ years there have been no problems.

From a pet owner perspective, we also are not at all fans of high polished tile. It and area rugs that can move are treacherous to pets. We applaud the manufacturers who make matte finish tile an option (plus matte hides dirt and water spots much more effectively).

I believe there’s some uncertainty on that point.
