Why would they build it like that ?....Part 2

Thanks to all for your replies to the OP....A new thread will save some time reading and get everybody up to current events.

+++++
Just got the word from them today...
Newmar is going to cover it all under warranty. Re-route the exhaust, check the slide seals and test for CO. It's yet to be done, but I've got to say, we're pleased with how they're handling it.

Good job Newmar and NIRVC Dallas.

Congratulations! I wonder, will Newmar reroute the exhaust at the factory from now on or will they only perform the change for customers who request it? I hope they see it as a necessary manufacturing change for models that have the exhaust under the bedroom slide out.

Did your CO sensor trip when running the generator/slides out?

Yup, twice.

That's what started the whole chain of events. I hope are you reading this Newmar? It's an easy fix/product enhancement.

Is the down turned tip necessary? No way to mount a Gen-Turi like that and Gen-Turis are mandatory in certain locations i.e football stadium tailgate lots.

Has anyone asked Onan about this? Iíd think there might be some risk of increased back pressure impacting the engines performance.

*****

Yeah.
Newmar asked them. No problemo. CO tested for, found almost zero PPM w/new set up.

Production Generator Exhaust Change

This photo was posted on a Facebook group by a member showing the status of his 2022 BS 3626 on the line at Newmar. Note where they have routed the generator exhaust. It seems that your efforts have resulted in a production change on the line. Nice!

I have included a photo of my 2021 BS 3626 exhaust location that exits just behind the rear wheel for comparison.

This is good news.

If they've made this a change for all Bay Stars, great! Apparently, they DO listen. Thanks for the update.
