WiFi and BlueTooth Thermostat Mod 2020 4081
Just finished installing a Micro-Air EasyTouch thermostat in our 2020 4081 DS.
Two main advantages: - Control HVAC from anywhere
- Four programs, per zone (vs just a day/night with KiB)
Install steps: - Remove the slide out control switch
- Unclip the grey phone cord from the white KiB control box, located behind the slide out switch
- Relocate the slide out control switches to a vacant space in the panel (there is a lot of spare wire available).
- Mount the EasyTouch thermostat
- Connect the phone cord to the back of the thermostat
- [Optional] Go into the KiB setup screen, disable HVAC controls. This will remove the HVAC Icon from the KiB screen.
Note: If you're using AGS with the HVAC system this T-Stat does not appear to control the GenSet. The Magnum controls the GenSet, and with the front AC wired to the inverter, AGS is handled through that control.

What does control HVAC from anywhere? Anywhere in the coach?
High on my list for a 2019 DS to replace the Dometic control.
Thanks

Assuming the coach’s WiFi is connected to the internet; you can use an App on your phone to control the Thermostat.
So long as your phone has an internet connection - you have control. From anywhere.
Inside the coach; you can use WiFi, or if that’s not available, Bluetooth.
Here’s a screenshot of the App.

i replaced the dometic with the Micro-Air Easy Touch. great addition. you can control the HVAC from the bedroom by your phone. You dont need to get up and go to the front of the coach.

We like the coach unheated at night; so this is appealing on those mornings where a little blast of heat is welcome!

Did the Micro-Air cover the spot where the Dometic thermostat was?

I have/had the Micro-Air RV350 but had to put the old thermostat in my 2018 DSDP. Micro-Air doesn’t support AGS. I was told that they are working on a update.

After moving the HVAC control wire to the MicroAir are you still able to monitor/control the water and waste panel from the Newmar control panel?

Here is my Micro-Air Thermostat mounted on my 2015 Dutch Star 4018, where my Dometic Control 2 was. My Magnum AGS is set for 80 degrees within the coach as a backup for my Fur Kids
I have a Togo and will be selecting a Data plan soon for the continuous Wi-Fi for the coach. Previously it was that ATT plan $360 for unlimited that they discontinued.

Yes, I have it controlling Tanks and Fans.
You need to go into the hidden setup menu to turn on/off the features you want the KiB to display.
(Touch the screen anywhere for 20 seconds; release; follow the alignment prompts; then you can enter setup mode).
Here’s how I have mine customized. The gear icon, top right, allows direct access to setup screen. You can enable that in the settings menu.

I also did this upgrade…been happy with it. But I completely forgot about the AGS (I don’t use it that much).
Really nice to change it from the bed…probably my favorite feature.

Added mine now to Wi-Fi so I can keep tabs on it while away from the coach. One thing I would like to add to Chris's excellent post on the Wi-Fi setup. Normally most SSID's, name of the wifi network you want to connect to is NOT case sensitive but always the Password is. I tried to connect it to Wi-Fi and even though it showed the SSID and Password it wouldn't connect. MY BAD... Should have read the directions. Micro-Air wants both to be Case Sensitive. So for anyone who doesn't read the directions, you can be one up with this very simply to install Thermostat, which by the way is WAY COOL
