So quick question....can I just replace the ranger with the pepwave? In other words just plug in my rooftop denali to the pepwave and go?
Thanks

I would say no as I believe the rooftop device contains some of the electronics as well as the antennas specific to it. DocJ may be able to verify for your specific model.
As an aside, many are getting very good reception with the pepwave paddle antennas that it comes with, and don't bother with the exterior antenna. Your mileage will vary by coach type and location of the pepwave device but worth a shot. You can always add the external antenna later if needed (plan for it in your install location if you want to save yourself some hassle later). Good luck!

Your rooftop Denali is not just an antenna; it is a fully self-contained router with associated antennas. When connect to a Pepwave device it would have to be connected as you would any other router.

Two years of pain with WiFiRanger
I have spent 2 years fighting for a reliable connection using WiFiRanger, many many hours on the phone, texting, and emailing with WiFiRanger support. I have sent them the log files, which they evidently don't know how to read because they never learned anything from them. I replaced the original
Core and SkyPro units with Spruce and Denali units at several hundred dollars and still no joy. Even parked beside my house with excellent signal from my home wifi it was unreliable, disconnecting frequently. I gave up on trying to get Spruce and Denali to work reliably together and am now using only the Denali. Just got back from a short trip and that seems to be much better but still not totally reliable. I will read all of the posts on this thread in detail and likely replace this kludge with something decent. WiFiRanger has certainly pulled the wool over Newmar's eyes. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I second that. I have had mine for about 4 months and it is great. WFR is in one word...GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never looked back and just wonder why Newmar still puts that junk in new coaches when Pepwave and Cradlepoint stuff is out there and has been for quite a while now.

just a quick note.. if I would add up the hours I spent trying to get that wifi ranger working reliably and charged it back at minimum wage to them, I could have paid for my pepwave a few times over.. just saying

We were using AT&T as well as wifi when available... reliability, stability, etc was just not there.. I need a reliable connection as I work from the road, so not having reliable connection is not an option. I can say with confidence that since we changed to the Max BR1 5G, its night and day. WiFi Ranger
OP,
I feel your pain. I got so frustrated trying to make that work. We now have a MIFI (our own hotspot) added onto our Verizon account and couldn't be happier. We can "stream" video (Netflix/Hulu) and keep in touch with the home office.
Good Luck

Try https://www.thervitguy.com/. It cost $99/month when active, $15/month when not. Uses T-Mobile. 2 channels. Has worked great for me. Plugs into indoor normal 120vac outlet.
