Thanks. Does the 100 g plan renew each month or it it good until the 100 gig is used up?

I believe it renews each month and unused data doesn't carry over.

George,

I’m using an IPad/IPhone and Safari as well. So far so good, like you in the driveway all is working well with the cellular. You can monitor and pay your prepaid plan online. You can view data history, pay the bill, etc.

Thanks for all the input in this thread. I was finally able to activate the AT&T 100 GB Data plan using the IMEI and SIM of the Denali installed in my new Newmar. Finding the link to activate "HAVE YOUR OWN DEVICE" wasn't intuitive. You have to click on the "HAVE YOUR OWN DEVICE" not the "Activate it online -->" words. Once I got past that it was easy.

Then I tried to connect the Denali to cellular. It tried many times but always failed on the last step. The WifiRanger firmware was just undated. I've rebooted the Denali and the cellular modem but nothing seems to work. It is curious that the Wifi Ranger shows three bars of 3G and not LTE. I saw the hot fix on the Wifi Ranger website but I have already updated the firmware. I'll try that again tomorrow.

I found out today there is a problem with me using Google DNS servers. I changed to Open DNS server addresses on my Mac today and I can now access that site. Still not sure how I am going to get a password and establish an online account. I go to the NEW USER page and get the page below.

It says I cant get a password via email for 30 days (exactly when my first paid month of data expires). The only AT&T 10 digit wireless number I have is the one assigned to the Denali itself. So im assuming I cant somehow magically get a text message to a phone or computer networked thru the Denali. (haven't tried yet). I haven't received any email from AT&T confirming the initial month of streaming service (but I did see and save the confirmation screen). Im assuming I will have to call and straighten it out.

Edit: I entered the number and requested an online password and got the 2nd screen below. So how do I get a text message that was sent to the number for the Denali? (note im not on the Denali right now but wondering if I should go out to the motorhome and fire it up and try it.)

Oh and I tried my Verizon cell number and it said that was invalid.

Joel,

Can I use the SIM chip from a Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE MiFi 8800L and install it in the WiFi Ranger Denali/Spruce LTE and keep the same Verizon hotspot plan? Other than my Verizon monthly costs, are there any other costs from WiFi Ranger?

Thanks,
Kevin

WiFiRanger doesn't charge you for the use of your Ranger either for WiFi or cellular.

That having been said, the modem in the Denali is not certified for use on the Verizon network. That doesn't mean you can't get it to work, but it might stop working without any warning.

Got it. Appreciated the feedback. Guess I'll try it and see what happens.

I started out with Mellenicom and finally the AT&T prepaid plan and both told me the SIM card has to be unused and never activated. The AT&T SIM card was 5.00.

I went through this today too. Got the installed SIM card (AT&T Mobility) to work in the AT&T setup pages, also the IMEI from the WiFi Ranger Denali. It was accepted and I got all the way through the account setup for prepaid. It said it was all good to go.

The modem is seen in setup, but I can not get it to log on to the internet. It says 3g (should be LTE) and has a good signal (-79 dbm) as shown. It gets almost all the way through and stalls with a failed to route message. I spent an hour on the phone with some AT&T rep who had me go through everything I had done, had me power cycle the WiFi Ranger and it still would not connect. He put me on hold and came back with the answer that it *might* take 24 hours for it to be activated. This does not show up anywhere in the AT&T documentation pages anywhere.

I will check on it either tomorrow or Saturday to see if it is working or not. If not, will go back to my Verizon MIFI device, but that has it's own issues with dropping out and requiring a reboot much too often. I never had these issues with the Cradlepoint routers in my previous coaches...they were rock solid.

Have you performed the "hotfix" on the modem to ensure that it can function after the 3G shutdown? Lot of modems from various manufacturers need to have firmware mods because of this.

Here are directions for the 3G hotfix: https://wifiranger.com/wp-content/up...x_Guide_v2.pdf

Is this separate from the actual firmware update? I did that when I got the coach in December. I did check for a new version today, but it stayed the same. I did not save anything at that point though...just kept trying to get everything to work.
