Window Repair by Suncoast Designers

Just had the drivers window & the door window repaired at SCD. Both had lost their seal & were clouding up - the drivers so much that I couldn't see out of the side mirror clearly anymore.

Called Newmar and was quoted a replacement cost of $1100.00 for the drivers window - cost, not including shipping & installation.

Got both done at Suncoast for under $500.00 with a 5 year pro-rated warrantee. Great people to work with and quick service. We arrived in a rainstorm. Checked in and was told to park in the camping area but not to hook up yet and that someone would be right out. As we back in the rain stops, and they swarm the coach. They explained that if it had continued raining they would have pulled the coach into the building for the window removal & seal-up. Since it had quit they did the removal at the campsite.

We hooked up (water & 50 amp electric with a dump station nearby) and they removed the windows and closed the openings. They explained that because the drivers window was a different type, it would have to sit overnight in the shop before they could install it after repairing it. So we spent the night.

Bright and early (Florida early, not Nappanee early - 8:00 AM) they are back, windows installed and we are on our way by 10:00 AM.

Had our drivers window done in November by Suncoast; we were very pleased with the work. Now we have 7 more windows that are fogged up, 1 escape window and the crank out part on all the other windows. I am talking to talk hehr about those. This seems to be a big issue with Newmar suppliers. Someone told me that it was brought up at the Tampa supershow rally get together with the Newmar execs. Currently I know of about 30 Newmar owners with fogging window issues. I know of 2 2008 Mountain Aires that have had all of their windows replace because of fogging. This issues should be addressed by Newmar.

You can also try to go to Suncoast Windows LLC in St.Petersburg. A year ago I had repaired 7 windows in my 2006 County Coach (40 foot) and the windows look really good. They have a free water and electric hook-up and also you can stay there overnight for free . I would say, if you want your windows to be done fast, in high quality and reasonable price, go to suncoast windows llc. They're really good and friendly.

Here's a link on a piece I wrote on the Suncoast Designer experience Solving The RV Foggy Window Syndrome for those that have not been there.
