I would agree - people recently there said they were not full so give it a try, see if they can squeeze you in for a 24hr appt.

If I recall correctly you will need to replace the wiper arms as well

Need to have the windshield replaced in my 2014 dutchstar. I’ve heard Newmar wants the full wall slide in the 1/2 in position. Curb side slides doesn’t matter in or out and jacks up and no air in suspension.

Glass Doctor, Goshen Indiana.

My windshield was leaking. I had them remove the windshield, reseal and reinstall. Took them two hours while I sat comfortably in their lobby.

They had a new replacement windshield on hand in case the original shattered during reseal.

I was impressed and they have other locations in other cities too.

Like AKConnie, we just had our windshield replaced by RV Glass Solutions. We used their Elkhart, Indiana location and received outstanding service. They offer free 50 amp hookup spots off their parking lot. You’re not allowed in your coach during their workday. They pick it up from you in the morning and return it at the end of the day. We stayed two nights.

My National Pacifica has a 1 piece windshield. Glass was replaced & we left the next day. 3 weeks later I had to return to get the glass resealed. Too much flex. I left coach there for 3 days. Seal set ok & no problems since. Tom 07 Pacifica.

There are no grooves or spline in the wiper arm, the wiper arm has a smooth barrel. The post has a fine spline on it. The arm is torqued onto the post and the post cuts grooves into the wiper arm. When you remove the wiper arm it is unlikely that you can get the arm back into the same grooves. The spline will cut new grooves into the arm and this will weaken the fit.

We had our windshield replaced and around 6 months later the driver wiper arm stripped out. I changed both arms and have not had any problems since.

You can check the torque after the windshield is replaced, but be prepared that at some point you may have to replace them.

I'm in central Florida, and will be having my windshield replaced (2nd time now) due to stress cracking. I'm going to be using RV Glass Solutions (a sponsor of this forum, and they have great reviews). They have several locations - I'll be going to Lakeland FL, and they have 50A hook ups if you need to stay. https://rvglassexperts.com/

So if your looking for a place to go - maybe FL (try Disney's Fort Wilderness) and you can get the glass done on the way.

BTW- where in TN are you going? I just came back from a trip to Shady Valley/Mountain City TN. Thinking of retiring up there.

The windshield on my 2005 uses a rubber gasket so it is ready to drive as soon as the glass is installed. Newer Coaches have "glued in" windshields, so on those you have to wait (usually 12 to 24 hrs) before it is recommended to drive.

Driving in a rain storm and having a wiper arm fail sucks. Always replace them when replacing the windshield.

We have the windshield replacement scheduled now at NIRVC in Lewisville. Back in late May, we had a blowout on the passenger side tag axle which caused some body damage. We were just south of Waco at the time. We drove the coach to NIRVC for the estimate and our insurance approved them to complete the repair.

We were waiting for parts until sometime in August and then our world blew up when my father passed away. Since we were planning on a return to Lewisville anyway, I contacted the body guys at NIRVC to see if we could schedule both items at the same time. They again worked with the insurance company and have come to agreement on the windshield as well.

Since the body repair will require paint, we're going to have to be out of the coach for a few days anyway and this seemed like a way to minimize the number of times we need to do the hotel thing.

As a side note, a couple of the recommendations noted here, specifically Duncan and RV Glass Solutions are companies that do the same thing/compete with Custom Glass Solutions.

Thank you to everyone for your comments.
