Winnebago acquires Newmar
Not kidding.

It’s going to take a while to digest this.

Yea, this is a tough one to digest.

My thoughts exactly. Short term, as they are going to operate independently, it might make little to no difference. By all accounts, Entegra still has very good customer service and quality, as Thor let's them act as a stand alone unit (I believe, based on what I've read from Entegra customers).
So, we will have to hope that Winne let's it operate as a stand alone, high end brand.

BREAKING NEWS: We’re excited to announce we’re acquiring Newmar Corporation, a leading manufacturer of Class A and Super C diesel and gas motorized recreation vehicles. For over 50 years, Newmar has been a leader in the RV industry with a reputation for quality, innovation, and service that has enabled them to become one of the industry’s fastest growing motorhome brands. Newmar manufactures a lineup of 11 different model families of luxury, diesel and gas motorhomes, and just recently unveiled their new, award-winning entry into the Super-C category.
We look forward to welcoming Newmar employees to the Winnebago Industries family! #WGO #Newmar #RV

Does that leave just Tiffin as the only major Class A producer that isn't owned by the big three (well, I guess big 4, as REV group owns Monaco, Fleetwood, etc.)?

Terrible terrible new!!! I have been apart of way to many of these acquisitions in my career. If you are the acquirer yea, but if you are the one being acquired.......... not so good. Lots of BS and spin about keeping things the same, but the truth of the matter is it won’t. When the next economic downturn comes and things get tight, the hammer will fall, and Winnebago policies, practices, and cultures will prevail.
I’ve owned a Winnebago, I’ve belonged to WIT......it is sub par to Newmar.
Sad, sad day.
P.S. only good news, for those of us that have a Newmar today, the resale should be enhanced.

Was thinking of the sub million brands. Are Newell and Provost owned by anyone? As those, and Foretravel, are all in the million plus range (from what I understand), I'm not as familiar with them.

WOW, now this will be interesting.
So, which is worst for the Industry, Thor buying Jayco OR now Winnebago buying Newmar?
I know I read a lot of threads, in the newsgroups, claiming that the Jayco quality will be going to pot. It’ll be interesting to here what is said about the Newmar product and its future quality!

How do you think Entegra has fared under Thor?
