I saw OldHiker's post about wintering the frig, and it caused me to think of another question on this topic.

Is there a drain in the refrig? When frost in the freezer melts, where does the water go? So far, I've used towels to soak up the water when I shut the refrigerator off for the winter, in order to ensure it doesn't end upon the floor, or worse...I couldn't find any drains in the frig.

Anybody know where they're located?

Thanks

Sebastian

PS. It's a Norcold AC/Propane Unit.

The freezer compartments you have to dry out with paper towels. The fins in box of refer will drain into trough under them and drain in tube to black cup outside in vent opening and dry up from heat generated by heat in that area. This happens during camping months when refer box compartment defrosts. Hope you have been winterized by now or you will have ice in cup.
Leave you doors ajar by just sliding the bars on door handles for this purpose. You can leave a cup of fresh coffee grounds to give a fresh smell in spring and get rid of any oders.

Thanks 007 for the reply.

I winterized about a month ago, and turned off the refrig. At the time I couldn't see any way for the water to drain (still don't), and soaked it up with towels.

From your post, I guess that's the way to do it.

Thanks again.

Sebastian
