Wipers only work on fastest speed
Hello friends, after a long day of rainy driving, my wipers, started the day fine, then would not intermittent wipe, then would not slow speed wipe, only work in high speed. I stopped and sprayed white lithium grease on all the moving joints but no help.
Any suggestions for fixing are much appreciated.

Does your coach have a dash switch for the wiper control , or is it equipped with a smart wheel ? ( I'm not sure if smart wheel was an option on the gas chassis MH's)

I had the same thing happen last fall, it appears to be a Workhorse chassis thing. See what you think about that thread.

Dave, consider using dilectric spray grease on all the conections which can be located between your wiper control and wiper motor.
One would think that because plugs are metal to metal a connection would be good, fact is these mobile houses collection moisture while parked. Corrosion that is not visible is present at every connection.
Let know how things work out!

Thanks guys. The wiper control is located on the same control handle as the cruise control. Sticks out left side of steering wheel shaft.
I have some Di-electric grease so can check all connections.
Thanks again, Dave

Jeff, I just read the link you posted and most likely my problem is the wires and where they connect. The rain has finally stopped so in the morning I will get under the hood. Thank you.

Still only work on high speed. I found two connection boxes and cleaned and added Di-electric grease. I found the fuse pulled it to be sure it was correct, cleaned contacts and reinstalled it. Here are some pictures of the motor and how the wires connect.
Thanks again for your help.

if it's motor driven, there may be a inline Wiper Motor Resister that needs to be replaced... these, like in your automobile, limit the 'max' speed down to the slower speeds since the motor is designed to work only at one speed. The resister is probably a lot like a 'fuse', but maybe larger in size...

Thanks MisterT. I just looked under the dash, up into the steering column and followed the mass of wires through the firewall and to the wiper motor. All I can find is two connections like the one I posted. Tomorrow I can call the company, their number is on the motor or call Newmar. They can tell me if the speed control is part of the motor or not.
