Wireless RV Camera Security System Install - Mike Mas
Hello All - I just put up an in-depth review of installing a WiFi Camera Security System in your coach.
This easily installed system will give you piece of mind when your out and about on a trip or when your pride and joy is in storage or your garage. Aside from providing a video image inside or outside of your motorhome, this system also provides alerts on your phone should someone enter the coach.
The best part is - it takes only minutes to install and your total cost can be as little as $150. I’ll also cover adding a hot spot to your coach and share my exclusive “Roof Cam” set-up. I hope you enjoy the review.
Best Regards - Mike Mas

How have the cameras done? The reviews on the circle two aren’t very good in terms of connectivity and battery life.

Mike,
Cool project.
Question... If you don't have wifi or cellular signal, can you still view the camera via your wifi ranger intranet?
For example, no signal from cell tower or campground wifi, but your cameras are still "talking" to the wifi ranger, and you are on the other side of the campground, your phone is still in range of your wifi ranger, then are you able to view your cameras?
Thanks, Ricky

Ricky,
Thanks for the reply - Regretfully if there is no WiFi from your campground or cell tower signal, the system is dead.
I see what your thinking, by making your cell phone a hotspot, the WiFi ranger would lock to your phone to complete the link, however the cell phone would still need the cell tower for the phone to complete the wireless link, since the coach would now talk though your cell phone to the cell tower, then transmit it back.
Thanks Mike

Mike, well sorta/kinda...
I was thinking more on the lines of just the RV's intranet. So, same scenario no signal from cell or wifi...
Does the ranger still talk to the devices? Say if you want to print something wirelessly on your intranet, is that possible? If your iPad can use a file on your computer. All stuff on an intranet. So take it to the next level, watching your coach video via the intranet along as your phone is on the ranger wifi but still no outside service.
does that make more sense?

Wireless security cam
You might want to look at the Guardzilla wireless security camera ( https://www.guardzilla.com/products/...ecurity-camera). No real installation necessary but of course it does require wifi. I have solve this with the ATT Mobley which I leave on full time. The Mobley only costs $20/month for unlimited data so it is a good solution for this and other data uses. This camera has geofencing so that it automatically arms when you leave the rig - cool feature.

This looks pretty cool too. We will need a hotspot and the Mobley might be a good option as well. Do you have any other cellular network extenders/range booster on your coach?

RVNavagator,
Thanks for the reply, I was looking at the Guardzilla system - the clerk it worked real good however as of yet do not offer a wireless camera so requires 110 volt, which for the most part is not a problem if you parked or have an inverter.
Seems that Mobley might also be a good option for watching Netflix since its unlimited.
Thanks for the links!
Mike

Hey guys though I would add this Arlo Go camera system to this thread. Unlike the WiFi cameras I outlined in the article, this camera uses the same principles as your Cell phone. It hooks up direct to a "Wireless Cell Tower" like you phone and provides images and security for your coach.
Its a bit pricey and does require one of those dreaded "Plans" to operate, however if your coach is parked somewhere without WiFi, this could provide an option.
Enjoy - Mike
