Okay, let me try again. What is the date of the latest update that fixes the lockup/freeze up issue?

Happy to add that my Xcite worked very well during a short trip last weekend after the update. My SD card was dated 9/2017, and the thing was useless before the update. Many thanks to you forum wizards.

It works - now to turn it off.
The suggestion to install Dock and do the upgrade to the card worked wonders for the freezing up and slow operation. It was a pain because I had to find and purchase a card reader dongle for my Mac and change the security setting to allow the downloaded software. But it worked. But I still have not found a way to just turn the xcite module off. Is it meant to stay on?

Not sure if you mean the display itself or something else? If you are asking about the display, the turn off is the volume button. Push it in and hold for a second or two and it will turn off.

I believe you are referring to the Newmar logo screen. Menu, setup, system, standby screen off...

Funny. I did not think of the old "press the button a long time to turn off" algorithm. Should have with so many systems (iPhone, etc.) using it. Sometime the simple things are the hardest to figure out.

I was able to update my XITE GPS using an apple computer and an SD card reader. Took me a couple of tries to get through the Rand McNally dock steps.
It did require registering for map updates, downloading the map update separately, then installing the download on the SD card before putting the card back into the XITE unit. Not the most intuitive process, but would have been a nightmare without all the information on this thread.
We have not had any freeze ups with our unit, only phantom construction and detours that I assume were from the outdated map. We will continue to run parallel navigation with google maps as I’m still a bit gun shy on navigation with the XITE.
Our SD card has a 1/5/18 date on the card but was getting “map more than one year old” warnings ar start up. The warning is now gone.

So far I haven’t heard of the update not fixing the freeze up.

We did the update to fix the freeze up and that seems better but the navigation volume use to mute radio and be loud. Now nav volume is lower than radio and hard to hear and when I turned it up, when the radio came back on it was blasting.
I went to settings, audio, nav volume set to +10 and mix is set to full, still much lower than radio since update. Worked fine before update.
Any ideas?

I adjusted the fade to +2 rear and that worked for me when radio volume is good the nav volume is good.
