Xite with CarPlay

Just watched the 2024 New Aire video. I noticed that the Xite system now supports Apple CarPlay.

Is there an upgrade for older Xite system?

I have a 2022 New Aire and called Riverpark. Was told no, there is not an upgrade path yet. Yet is the key word here. They do not know if there ever will be an upgrade. Screen has to be changed as well as the radio core. At least they believe the radio core will require to be changed. May be a firmware update. Anyways, not ETA or even development at this point.

Told each year coach has different programming based upon components used within the coach build and that makes it tougher for retro of Apple CarPlay.

I'll pay, if ever produced. Much cheaper than purchasing a new coach. In the meantime...I sit with a separate CarPlay monitor on the dash.

All the manufacturers use them because they're the cheapest in the game. When you own a market you become slow to upgrade. It's not like the automotive suppliers that sell hundreds of thousands a year.

It was a rhetorical question. But, now that you said that, they can contact the same folks who are building radios for the major automakers. When selling an rv for 200 k plus, what's another few hundred bucks for a better radio. I ripped that junk out as soon as I got my rig home.

Kenwood DMX 1037S 10.1" screen, crystal clear 360 views, apple carplay. This model does not have nav, I use waze and my garmin. There is another similar model that has nav. But with apple cp its not needed.
On my 19 Ventana, the xite Nav was wrong 7 out of 10 times. Sent me the long way or wrong way.
The install is pretty simple. But if you have issues you can have it professionally installed. I had no issues and my steering wheel controls worked right away, another poster had to go into a control box and change a few settings for them to work.

Thanks, that is what I have been looking at. Installation should not be much of a problem and You're right, the Xite nav is wrong so much of the time, if I wasn't familiar with some of the routes already I would have been really screwed. I have really tried to work with it but I'm done! The last update made it even worse. the weight limits on the bridges are totally off, even to the point of routing you off interstate. Totally untrustworthy and unusable.

I must admit I am.missing the 5 year old Kenwood that I had in my previous 2018 Tiffin. It supported both Apple Car Play and Android Auto...

Xite was a horror, had the Garmin and the Xite on and the xite wanted to send me 25 miles out of the way and TAKE a toll road. I would not mind the toll if I was saving 25 miles. It was completely unreliable.

Keep in mind its more than just adding firmware/hardware with the capability of Apple CarPlay and/or Android Auto.. Every manufacturer has to go through licensing agreements and approval testing prior to them being released. Compare the volume of the auto market to the motorhome market... this demand sets the timeline for features, additional licensing, R&D costs, etc...
