1998 Alpine Speedo and Tach sensor locations

I need to locate the speedo and tach pick-up sensors on my 1998 Alpine with Cummins 6c 8.3 mechanical engine and Allison transmission.

I want to verify that sensors and wiring are secure before removing the instruments and sending away for repair and calibration.

One of the mechanics at A&N Diesel says that some vehicles with the Cummins mechanical engine use the alternator for tach signal.

Any suggestions?

Don't know about the speedo, but on mine the tach is feed from the alternator. I had a Leece Neville 2824LC which I replaced with a Delco Remy 28SI
