Not sure all Alpine smart beds are configured the same but there is a second manifold assembly at the rear of the main basement area [on the ceiling] that controls the smart beds. Think I would start by looking at all the wiring connections on those solenoids to make sure none of them have been snagged by stored items and become disconnected.....

There are 2 separate sets of switches that control the smart beds. There are some small push button switches on the outside of the coach. Those switches were not exterior switches and most Apex's had problems with them. Some people have converted those to marine switches. The second set are in the compartments. Those are just rocker switches which work better. You did not say which switch you were using.

You could have a problem with the extend or retract solenoid or power to it. The work the same as the slide out solenoids.

I am using the rocker switchs in the left hand service bay. The pump motor runs but bed does not move.

Any update?
I am wondering just what the issue is.
Hope it worked out.

No solution yet, I am trying to get a service person who is up to speed on HWH systems to check it out. I am not sure which solinoid controls the left front smart bed

So can I assume you haven't bothered to check the electrical connections on the rear manifold assembly on the basement ceiling????

That is correct, but I plan to. Is the rear manifold best accessed through the driver side rear bed or the bed behind the mid door on the passenger side? Is there a fool proof way to identify the solinoid I want?

Ed, if you search the forum there is a schematic of the smart bed that Dale posted 5/8/09.
That may help.

All is well, bed retracted by loosening hose fitting.

Can you elaborate on which hose fitting and how that kept it from working?
Thank you and glad it or keep out.
