A&E Awning

Hello, Back again with another dilemma. We're on the east coast (New England) The 18' A&E awning has a dent from a tree limb about 4' back from the front stopping it from rolling out. Is this repairable or will I need a new spool? photos enclosed

That will require a new roller tube. I would advise against trying to put it out if it is rolled in tight. You might get it out but you will never get it back in. Call your insurance company, pay the deductible and let a good shop replace it. I’m an insurance adjuster and pay for about 20 of these in a typical year.

This comes as an assembly. If it is a current model the can replace the roller and fabric. If it is older the may have to replace the entire assembly, including the arms.

It appears that the track on the side of the coach is bent as well. If so it will have to be straightened. Hopefully the exterior coach wall is not damaged. It may be able to be straightened but doubtful.
Good luck

Awning issue

I'm thinking Amosnandy is right also. Contacting my insurance company in the morning. Thank you all. One day I hope to be able to contribute instead of always asking too many questions.

Good morning Mike
I had to replace my awning in 2019 and paid the extra for a power awning.

Well worth it you don't have to worry about smacking your head on the supports.
I would have to check but I believe the upgrade was 4 to 500.00

this would assume that the roller and fabric were still usable I think??

I upgraded my manual awning to a Carefree 12V system and it was around $1500 installed (re-using roller and fabric). I had ShadePro do this at Quartzsite almost 3 years ago now and we have had no issues and really like the convenience of simply pushing the button to extend or retract...... 30 - 45 seconds from inside the comfort of our coach
