AC Soft Start
Has anyone installed the Soft Start for RV Air conditioners in their Alpines. https://www.softstartusa.com/
The product allows 2 AC units to run on 30 Amp when only 30 Amp service is available.

Looks very much like this one. https://www.microair.net/products/ea...nt=30176048267 Do a search, many have used them and like them. Just remember, it only lowers the starting amps, running amps from both units will still be close to 30 amps.

Have you tried running both as is on a 30A plug??
I was just in Prescott, AZ 2 days ago and was able to run both units on the 30A service there as it was the only service available and thought I'd give it a shot as it was a little warm in the coach when we got there.
Both came on and ran for over an hour until we were cooled off enough to turn one-off. I have a Progressive Industries EMS system installed and the power was very good and I wasn't worried as the system would protect the AC units if the power got too low......and it didn't. I've done this multiple times and I do NOT have the soft start units installed on my AC units.
PS...I also have a residential refer and it is very low draw electricity wise so if you have a propane fridge you may be able to run both if you run refer on propane.

We have a residential refrigerator and I have never been able to run 2 Air Conditioners from 30A power.

Its the same thing as a SPP6 on amazon for 15.00 Just gives the compressor a quick surge of power at the very start. That way the amp draw stays low

One thing that can get overlooked is how much power the electric heating element on the water heater pulls. It's over ten amps. In case I need to use 30 amp service I put a piece of masking tape on the 30-to-50 dogbone adapter that has WATER HEATER written on it.

Nothing like a hard start capacitor, electronics actually ramp up the compressor speed slowly so there is no starting surge.
Have tried a hard start capacitor and it bogged 2000 watt generator and tripped the breaker. With the easy start, no problems. There is actually a learning algorithm that teaches it how to regulate the ramp up using the least power.

Interesting......our 2001 has 13.5K units, is that the same as 2007??
We definitely can't run the electric heater with both running

What’s the point in even trying to?
