Alpine APEX smart drawer no hydraulics

I’m in a bind here in Oregon headed to SoCal. A hydraulic line got a hole in it from rubbing on the frame. Lost all hydraulics with one drawer out a bit. Until I can get it fixed somehow, how do I close the drawer????? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also if you know any mobile hydraulics repair people near Albany or Eugene Oregon I’m all ears.

I’ve not had your specific problem but I’m visualizing what I would try for an emergency fix. I would use rescue tape but that probably can’t hold the pressure. So, I would use a hose clamp right over the location of the pin hole to keep the rescue tape is place. Add hydraulic fluid as necessary to the system. Again, my visual attempt to get the drawer back in so that you can move the coach. Good luck!

Bcbowers I did exactly that and it did not hold. 3 clamps side by side. I’m wondering if anyone knows if there is a fitting available I can install myself? I’d like to cut the line at the leak and install a splice. It’s right above the rear axle so hard to get to.

swap the lines at the remote manifold. pull it in, and swap the lines back. this should work for a temp fix.
it will make a mess, but should work.
look at the hwh website under dealers and distributors.
there is a list of folks in the area. the pump pressure is 3000 to 3500 lbs. there isnt a good patch. the hose needs replacing. get the AP number off either end of the hose. call me at 602 549 3638 i can help.

i work full time for hwh corp. i do not solicit service work or service work on this forum.

You can also go to a local hydraulic shop and they can repair it.

….I have seen "field serviceable" hydraulic connections that work on compression--not crimped but only at Northern Tool.....not sure what pressure they were rated for and if they had them for smaller hoses--our hydraulic lines are kind of smallish....

If you're still in the area on Monday, the Monaco service center in Coburg will certainly have the ability to supply/install a new HWH hose.

Cinequip, I made it to Coachella CA to start my job. Drove down with my drawers open! OK just one and it was open just 3” or so. I’ll see about someone in the Palm Springs area to repair it. Until then I have no leveling jacks, slide outs and of course the smart bins which contain all of my tools for the sculpture I need to create... yay me.

An update:
We now have all of our hydraulic system back up and running. Only after two weeks of stress, headaches and a couple of nightmare experiences with repair technicians. I had to be very proactive in this fix getting my own 24’ hose made and routing it through the length of my coach on the virtually inaccessible underbelly. The best piece of advice here was to contact azpete (Paul Maddox) the man wears an invisible cape. What a gentleman and knowledgeable specialist. Our coach would not be fixed for months I’m certain without him.
A tidbit of advice: take some time and either crawl under your coach or pay someone else and do a thorough inspection of your hydraulic lines in the area above the rear axle. Ours rubbed on a bracket and got a leak. NO ONE will repair that little hose leak up in that area. You must replace the entire line. But you can’t get to the rest of it because you have no hydraulics to open up the storage drawers....
