Question Alpine Coach Headlights

I know we have been there before, but.... Does anyone know where I can find replacement headlights for my coach?

Search for BMW E39 (around 2000 model year) headlights. You will find several aftermarket styles to choose from.

A couple of us have replaced the plastic lenses, $150 from ECS Tuning. They look great and it can be done in an hour and a half or so.

Others have updated to the newer look with the halo daytime running lights.

What is important for the OP to know is why he needs replacements, and there are options other than replacement.

If it's because the lenses are cloudy, then replacement lenses make sense. If, however, the adjusters are broken, that's a different and more complicated issue. New adjusters can be purchased but it requires disassembly of the light housing via heating of the unit and softening the adhesive in older units that, I assume, he has (he would have to do the same if it is a lens replacement.) Often it is easier to simply buy new units and install them.

It's actually a pretty simple operation.....the units from ECS are not just the lenses but the entire light assembly that use the existing adjusters. I paid $125 ish for both sides and it was a simple change out. It is not just the lenses but the lenses and body, old lights come out and the new ones go in....easy peasy!!

I had very cloudy lens covers, although otherwise every thing worked OK. I went to an auto parts store and purchased a kit (made by 3M) for around $30. You will need a battery drill. The instructions recommend running at around 800RPM. What a change! My headlights look like brand new.

What year is your coach?
My headlights are looking pretty bad.
I'd like to replace them with something that has 'halos' or 'angel eyes'. Not that I plan to drive much at night, but I htink they look cool.

I've read on other headlight threads I might have difficulty because of the multiplex wiring in my 2005.

Which headlights did you order?
I went to ECS tuniing's site, and they have far too many options for me to feel confident in choosing the right ones.

There are 20+ pages of E39 head lights

This is what mine look like. They are pretty bad.
My concern is that they don't seem to exactly fit right. If you look at the pictures, the curves don't seem to match up everywhere. I realize they were made for a BMW, but is this just how they always were from WRV?

After looking at the ECS site, I also realize I need to brush up on some of the terminology, ie projector, xenon, etc.

This seems to be a case of too many options leading to decision paralysis lol

Anyone have pictures of their aftermarket replacements on their Alpine Coach?
