Mike:
I guess I had never seen an Avalanche before. I never realized they look like Fleetwoods. When I saw this coach while camping, I immediately noticed the Alpine logo emblazoned on the front and thought, "Hmm, why would a Fleetwood owner paint an Alpine logo on the front of his coach?" Later that day I surveilled the offending culprit and realized that it had a few Alpine-like features (the interior looked similar through the windshield, the windows were the same shape, though not reflective, same shades in the windows). I looked for an "Avalanche" logo, but couldn't find it. I went back to my coach and googled images of an Avalanche and viola! It was indeed an Avalanche. About that time, it started up and pulled out. Drats!
BTW, I did not mean any offense when I said the back ends ain't purdy (but they ain't).

I have only seen one avalanche in person and it had massive delamination issues. I wonder if this was/is an ongoing issue with the avalanches?

Delaminating is caused by water seeping into the wall. It can also be caused by a faulty construction, as was the case with Safari Trek's in the early 2000's years. When Monaco purchased Beaver, the delaminating issues were not told to them, and they were stacked up at the plant in Coburg. I personally did not see this, but read about it in another forum-so going on someone else’s comments for this point.
The BH loves the floor plan, but I won't let her pursue them because of that one issue alone. The alpine at least has issues known and can be fixed. There was an alpine sitting at the NW Cummins at Chehalis, WA. Guess it's in for maintenance. There is also one for sale at Uhlmann RV but it's been sitting for a while. Early 2000 series year model if I remember, has had some custom cabinet work, but needs some more work on systems. I did like the services bay is all enclosed, and the batteries are in a tray with a cover over them (some have been removed).

Past one going down towards Knoxville on I-75 this morning. Pulled into the Escapees Raccoon Valley park and now there are 3 here!

Today 10-5-10 - we are heading east to Athol, ID, in the toad, two alpines about 1-2 miles apart heading west on I-90. Don't think they would have seen us wave.
Hope you arrived safely wherever you were going. We are heading west tomorrow toward home back in Vancouver, WA

September 30. Heading North out of Santa Barbara, CA, we saw two Alpines heading South on Hwy 101, about 5 minutes apart.

Spotted an Alpine in Destin Florida today, parked on the beach on Scenic Highway 98, it looked like a 2003. Brown color scheme with Texas tags. I got out to meet the owners but they were probably on the beach enjoying our sugar sand and emerald waters here in Paradise.

Ft Benning has a nice Rec center in Destin with 87 pads for RV's. Take Benning Drive north and you'll run into it. It's over 17 acres on the back bay...... Be Safe and enjoy your Alpine

Maggie Valley, NC - Thursday, October 21st - 10:30am.
We have been camping in Maggie Valley all week. Headed out to the Blue Ridge Pkwy yesterday morning in the toad and saw a beige 40' coming at us on US19 thru the middle of town.

Two sightings on Hwy 89 - one north and one south of Lake Powell on the 16th (I think) and the 20th of October. Could have been the same rig both times. Same color as us (greens on gold) towing a white something.
