Amana icemaker

Ice maker is running and I can here the water pump cycle water but the water is not making it to the ice maker. The basement floor is wet under the reefer. I turned reefer off to unthaw and try again. When turned back on and after cooling water was flowing into icemaker and making ice. This morning no ice and water below again. My question is there a bypass between ice maker and the solenoid that dumps water when the water isn't going into the icemaker or probably a cracked line or solenoid that is bad. Thanks Jack

Jack,
The water from the solenoid at the bottom of frig. runs up the back of the frig. in a
1/4" plastic tubing. It enters the ice maker through a fitting in the rear of frig. and runs
down into the ice maker by gravity feed. If I remember correctly? The frig is also feed by 1/4" plastic tubing from a source in the basement, at least on my 03. The water amount to the ice maker is a timed amount, solenoid opens then closes for a predetermined time. I had to readjust the mounting of the ice maker so ALL the water flowed into it each time it filled. I was getting an Ice Dam at the entrance to the ice maker, allowing water to be redirected to places it shouldn't be. There was some corrosion in the ice maker, so I replaced it with new and all is well now. You could have leaks from several places in the water path that might show up on the floor. You might find the frig. bolted through the floor into the basement. Moving it can be a PAIN. Good Luck, Ken

All I have to offer is I found a pin hole in the plastic water line. I cut that section out and with in a day another hole in the old section of line.
You might have a more complicated problem than I had. If you want to turn off the water to the ice maker there is a small brass in line valve behind the panel where you attach you water fill hose.
The panel is held in place by velcro. So simply but gently pull the panel off and you will find the brass valve.
I have not run a new line yet. I don't drink the water from our fresh tank anyway. I buy ice.

By the way, plastic has a memory, and it's usually a bad one.
Plastic parts last 10 to 12 years and then they are dried and brittle.

There are 4 T-40 bolts through the floor into the bottom of the refer. It depends upon your floor plan, with my FDTS there are 2 bolts that are in through the floor above the holding tanks and 2 in the 2nd basement compartment, 1 above the Red Devil (which has to be removed to get at the bolt). The refer is also sitting in detects in the floor so once the bolts are out you can move the refer out of those detents.

I have had problems with those hoses. The first time I winterized there was a little bit of water left in the lines which drained back into the valve, froze breaking the valve. I also had a water line leak so now I have shut off the water (I got tired of moving the refer) and put store bought ice in the ice holder, it still dispenses both cube and crushed ice (as long as I keep it full), but I no longer have to worry about it leaking in that tough to get to spot.

Got the reefer out. The line that runs from solenoid to gravity feed the ice maker had come unhooked at the fitting at the top. Put a small hose clamp on the connection and will reinstall tomorrow after if runs for the night.

I also put some gorilla tape on the hose about a foot long to help keep it from coming lose. also put cooper tubing in the basement instead of plastic.
