Hopefully one of you already figured this out:
I want to replace the passenger side landline phone outlet with a triple USB outlet.
I would also add a usb outlet to the bedroom nightstand.

How did you end up splicing into power?

I thought for the front USB I could tap one of the "step" "overhead light" wires in the same map cubby.

For the nightstand....?

Well...the front outlet probably not an issue as you can patch into a nearby 12V feed. Most of the 12V lines run down the curbside of the coach above the cabinets and they are all color coded and can be identified at the fuse panel.

Now at the bedside that's a different story. I haven't been able to find a hot 12V line anywhere near the rear of the coach, everything I can find back there is 120V.

I have added quite a few combo 12V round with 2 USB plate throughout the coach, I like these as it allows me to run adapters for our notebooks as well as USB for phones.

If you post up a picture of the actual area you are looking to add outlets I may be able to give you a little more help

I have a newer Vansco equipped coach so the USB that I did up front will be different.
What I did in the bedroom was to change out the duplex plug (120v) for for one that had USBs in it.
Something like this.

We added our 12v usb charge port outlets just left of the tank monitor/inverter/generator panels above the dining table. 12v easy access can be found there.
I also added a 12v cig lighter type outlet in the bedroom, fed from the Freedom inverter 12v cables. That powers a 300w PSW inverter for my cpap when boondocking, without the need to run the power hungry Freedom 25.
I have a couple duplex usbs at home also. Those work well too.

I know of no 12v source by the bed nightstands. However, there are several sources in the cabinet/drawer area that abuts the toilet. My year has the inverter located at the bottom of the cabinet which also exposes the back side of the fuse panel located in the toilet room. Behind the television is also an abundance of wires, one of which is probably 12v. Of course, there is also the overhead 12v light switch on the wall of the cabinet or in the fixture itself. Regardless, it means running wires to the night stand.

A better solution may be to drill through the floor of the nightstand, behind the door/drawers, to access the battery compartment or whatever is directly below. Installing a fused wire could then be accomplished.

If your bed is on a slideout, there should be 12V under the bed.

I have been planning on changing out the 120V lights behind the bed with 12V units.....I never have understood why those aren't 12V

I was planning on running a line back from the fuse panel around the baseboard under the window......but alas it's another project that has been in the works as we've been doing a bunch of other things on the coach.

My next project is to replace the factory Xantrex inverter/charger with (2) Victron 12/3000 units that will energize the entire panel so the lights will work from the inverter......now I'm wondering if I'll ever get around to changing out those lights

There are definitely a couple of weird things not on the inverter.
We rarely have shore power the way we use our coach and it's irritating not have the light over the table working.

On the 40' quads, there is 12v in the bed/vanity slide. You can fish a line from the switch plate by the sink, down into the cabinet and then into the wall by the bed.

That won’t help Brianna. The batteries are located on the passenger side, pretty much below the bedroom. With a bit of head scratching and a drill bit it shouldn’t be too difficult to run 12V to the bedroom.

Or, get a lithium Pocket Juice pack or Noco Genius jump starter and have USB power wherever it is needed.

I moved that circuit to the inverter(breaker) and upgraded to a LED fixture so very little extra draw.

This is also the circuit for the refrigerator which also powers my new residential unit.

PS....extra benefit is that the outlet behind the passenger seat is now hot on the inverter
