Another entry rail solution
Simpler, cheaper; solid mount; nice feel in the hand. Maintenance-free.
A modified SS standard bathroom grab piece. Upper leg, added 7" for firewall (steel) attachment plus grab section lengthened, unsing metal supply store scrap SS tube of same OD. I tack-TIG-welded, then had a pro finalize SS welds. I flush-ground, then sanded all for renewed brushed look.
Now underdash items needed moving.
Cover panel R/R easy w/o rail removal; step well cover and door clearances are fine.
As EM said, great plus; wife's happier!

Excellent job!

Thanks.
From other posts offering other solutions, earlier RVs may not have the strong metal firewall to serve as upper anchor. I was able to drill, then tap those holes for 5/16" fine thread bolts with threadlocker to keep them tight.
This lower anchor has many bolts/screws as the lower attachment 'plate' is not thick metal like the upper. I reason the tug force to use it and the direction, is largely level, towards the door, quite unlike a chin-up' bar!

Very well done, and yes, it looks factory!
Quick question. In my coach, the front door is only 26" wide, something that is found only on the 36' FD models. Still, the width of the actual stairwell is wider. Just how wide is your stairwell and how far does the rail intrude into that space?

I don't know as it's stored in 92692. Want a personal look-see?
The lower mount is unchanged from the H.D.-souced grab bars ; about 3-4" total, given the approx. 1" bar diameter and the 2"+/- flange stand-off to the bar's inside.

Our steps measure 29".
Rail is about 2.5", as shown here:
