Apex Front Night Shade Replacement

Our front surround shade hasn’t worked in years, seems like there’s no power to it as it doesn’t even attempt to operate when the switch is pressed either for up or down. I tried measuring voltage at the switch and found all sorts of voltage other than the expected 12 vdc. Has anyone else had this issue, if so, what was the fix? If anyone replaced the shade, what was the replacement? One piece MCD, or did you replace the sun shades with MCD?

I’d take the shade off and measure voltage there to insure it even getting a signal. Then start looking for a resolution.

My 07 Apex shades were working intermittently when I first got it new. I found that the switches were the problem. I replaced all the switches and they have been working perfectly ever since.

Where were you able to locate switches? Do you have the part number by chance? I’ve tried once buying a replacement switch and it wasn’t the correct one.

My switches (double throw momentary switch) are on the Passenger side wall behind the passenger seat. 3 each, 1 for each shade. Pull the switch out, take picture where each of the 6 wires go unplugall wires(also make a drawing where each wire goes as a backup). take the switch to an electronic store or take the MFG. name and model # from the switch and search for it on the internet.Good Luck

Update, the switch was wired incorrectly from the factory ( anyone surprised?) the motor is subsequently burned up. I’m having MCD shades installed for every other window, so biting the bullet on the front shade.
