AquaHot Fuel Filter

I have a 2006 western alpine with hydro- hot water and coach heating.

Does anyone know where the fuel filter is located for the system? The service manual just says to locate the filter and replace it. It is not shown on any diagrams.

Service techs says it is between the unit and the full tank. Not a lot of help.

Our filter is located in bay behind the propane tank on the drivers side.

There is a priming procedure for the filter. I wish I could remember what it is.

If you are going to pre fill the filter be sure to use the outer ring of holes as the fuel will be filtered. Filling using the center hole will introduce unfiltered fuel into the system.

I just checked Roger Berke's website. Apparently it is not necessary to pre fill the filter. The Webasto has a "very powerful" self priming fuel pump and unless there is an air leak in the line it will pull fuel from the tank into the filter and into the burner. Hope that helps.

There are slight variations according to floor plan. For example on our ‘05 38 FDTS the filter is mounted on the wall at the front side of the propane bay, right next to the jack. But, in my experience, the filter is always mounted on drivers side near the propane tank.

Hidden filter

Jestan,
In case you have not found the filter yet, on my 2006 it is very well hidden.
So if you open the propane compartment and touch the left wall (so facing forward to the wheel) it is mounted on the opposite side of that wall. So you will need to slide under the RV and you will find enough room to sit up in that area. While there have a look at the steering gear hoses. My filter must have been there for a looong time as it still had the black undercoating on it.
