auto start gen/set & air cond

Unfortunately we must go to Phoenix for a few days next week. We have a dog and cat that we leave in the coach. If the 50 amp breaker pops is there a way to have the gen auto start on the thermostat setting for the air conditioner? We have a Prosine 2.0 Inverter. I searched the archives and did not find a fix.
Thanks

As far as i've been able to find out there is no way without some addl. wiring. The units weren't set up to do what you want. If you turn on the "ags" on the thermostat it will turn your generator on every time the airs kicks on whether the shore power is ok or not. Somewhere on this forum is instructions how to rewire to accomplish what you want. Maybe a search will find it. Good luck.

Chris,

I don't know how to do it with your system, but have done on mine, a Xantrex. It you can find the wire that controls the AGS, you can do the same.

Cut the AGS control wire and install a spst relay with a 120 volt coil in that line, on the normally closed contacts. Connect the relay coil to the contactor in the transfer box, for the power cord. The 120 volt power source has to be only from the cord and not from any of the circuit breakers inside. When the coach is plugged in, with power, the relay will open the AGS control circuit and disable it. If there is a loss of power to the coach, the relay will close and re-enable the AGS. If you can find the AGS control wire, care to do the work and need any assistance, PM me.
