Awning conversion

I'm thinking about converting my manual awning to a Liepert 12volt power awning. I know the new arms are a little shorter , but it looks like it will work. Has anyone done this conversion or have comments before I pull the trigger on this? My coach is a 2000 36FDS with the factory awning. It works fine but electric would be more wife friendly. Thanks

I did the Carefree conversion on our A&E manual awning at Quartzsite in Jan 2019. Shadepro did the install and charged $~1400 if I recall correctly.

I had the A&E automatic version on my previous Alpenlite 5th wheel (Same as Alpine coach power awning) and I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10' pole. Always giving me trouble, undersized wire, quirky control box, and an all-around PIA.

The Carefree has been a dream and I like it very much!!

FWIW ... We did the same thing as Paul only at an FMCA rally years ago. The big plus is the automatic closure in wind. It uses motion detection and not some wind sensor to detect wind with Low, Medium, & High settings. We saw ours close in a strong gust of wind even with billowing. I also like the way the arms of the new awning covers the original arms so you canít tell that itís a replacement.
