The 12v power to my backup camera in a 2003 Avalance cuts off and on. There is no apparent reason. I can be setting still or driving. Smooth or rough road. It does not make a difference. I believe there might be a loose connection but I don't know where to look for the connector supplying the power. Hopefully, someone can assist.
Thanks, Ed

Hello & Welcome Ed:

I would check the back of the monitor and see if the connections have come loose. I had similar problems including a bad/poor picture and every time I pushed the connections back in it cured the problems and the bad picture. I would also check the power source and ground connections. The connections for power and ground should be behind the dash panels on the passenger side. Good luck on finding your gremlin.

If your monitor has two inputs try changing to the other input (A-B) and move the input switch accordingly.
If all else fails give this firm a call with all the component details.

I found them to be very helpful.

Originally, I thought the B/W monitor/camera were devective. I put in a new color system and the problem remained. Since I had to add a new connection for the monitor, I'm confident the connection to the monitor is reliable. I temporarily connected the monitor power to the 12v overhead lights and everything worked reliably. The only problem was trying to drive with the overhead lights on!

I will check the connection block behind the dash. I'll let you know the result.

I really appreciate the feed back!
