SteveS and DLukes,

Just to be sure you don't miss out, search for EngineerMike's earlier message about organizing this trip...or send a private message to him so he is sure to include you.

In the event you are unsure how to use private messaging, the easiest way is to find EngineerMike (like the topic below on "New Coaches @ Newport Rally"), click on his name and scroll down to "Invite EngineerMike to a Private Topic".

Good luck! Sure wish we could go!!!!

Gail

As some may know, we had some issues w/our 06 coach that ended oddly. We will be picking up our new 08 Alpine at the factory in "two weeks," which sadly doesn't leave us w/sufficient time to comfortably debug initial issues w/the coach and meet a mid-November Baja run. And although it would be great fun to watch as a spectator (we had a coach broken down in Baja once before, and it was a real circus ), we don't feel comfortable taking a spanking new coach south of the border till we've got at least a few thousand miles on it.

The perfect time for seeing Baja is really in February or March. Whales are birthing babies, the weather should be fabulous (about like mid Nov), and a lot of gringos have gone home for the season so places are not usually crowded (except maybe some of the whale tour spots). So we will be happy to lead the caravan in Feb. We need to look at the ACA and SoCal schedules to pick a good time. Please feel free to suggest dates.

We apologize for this, and feel badly that some of you may have rejiggered your schedules for the November trip. I hope it is not too big a deal, and hope to see everyone in February.

EM - Sorry to hear about the trip delay...we were looking forward to it. However, I can't think of a better reason to delay than to debug a new Alpine...congratulations. After all, the caravan leader MUST have the newest coach available to "lead the way." Good luck on the debug, I am certain you will keep us informed. Please keep me on the list for the Feb/Mar trip. Thanks.
