AF,

About 2 yrs ago I had 2 bay doors that needed replacement. Magic Metals did the job and they fit perfectly. They will need the year model of you coach. For an earlier model coach they need the doors themselves as they do not have molds for them.

Hf,
The painting was done by a local body shop that has experiuence w/ RV's. He had to do a visual match as the paint codes were specific to WRV and he did not have the key to decipher them. He checked with local auto paint suppliers and the codes that I have did not match with the codes the suppliers had. I got my codes from the previous owener who in turn had gotten them from WRV. Folks with newer coaches seem to have had better luck with their paint codes.

Voiceman asked about painting I was wondering what the cost was . I ran into a place that recently fabricated the doors for another Alpine, since I had no door frame damage I was thinking of going this route . Or did Magic Metals only make the skin for the doors.

I backed into my garage and forgot I had a side door open . Our local RV shop was able to get it back into almost new shape, but took a number of hours to pound it out, plus they repainted. I was not unhappy with having done it this way (the repair, not the backing up!). If yours are not too bad, you might check.

I buggered the 2 right side bay doors last year and had to bend them back into shape (sorta).
You just can't beat 12 gage aluminum doors. The paint is another matter.

Voiceman and Hf,
Oops!!
How much $$... I wiped out the sanitation bay door, the door in front of it, and some of the fiberglass of the rear quarterpanel. The doors, (full replacement) repairing the fiberglass, replacing various other parts that were destroyed/mangled, and painting came to about $7000. I had just switched to Progressive Ins and they paid the bodyshop directly. Of course my premium went up 30% the next year, but so it goes.

Jeff: I called Industrial Finish (1-800-531-1305) I think the supplier of paint to WRV and they faxed me the Diamont paint codes. I then had to call BASF (1-800-825-3000 ext 3) to find a local supplier for Diamont paint. They recognized the codes and could blend the paint. I haven't tried it yet so I don't know how well it matches after eight years of Arizona sun.
