Bed heater vent line

I was looking at a couple of things today and discovered an issue with the bed heater vent line. It was just resting on the rear axle.

Also the bracket on the top of the axle had cut the line across.

I zipp tied the vent line up and off of the axle. Looked like it had been the way for a while.

It may take a couple of days before I can grab a picture.

This is a 2003 MDDS. So a north/south bed.

From underneath. Forward of the rear axle the heater vent line comes out from a vertical bulkhead. This line then travels over the axle to the rear a couple of feet It then terminates to the floor. This is at the foot of the bed. The foot of the bed has the two vents one one the left side and one on the right side

So what happened. This vent line was just laying on top of the rear axle. Further on the top of the axle, there is a bracket The bracket ripped a hole in the vent line. This hole was actually about halfway through.

Hope this helps. But I will get a picture

I know exactly what you are talking about.......we have the same set-up.

Can't you just patch/scab in a replacement piece of vent and support it with some plumbers tape??

Maybe it will make more sense with a picture or two.

I’ve patched mine and pulled it up so this doesn’t happen again to me. I just wanted to provide a something to look at for others.

So one picture is looking towards to rear. The other is looking straight up. You can just see the forward bulkhead connection.

You can also see the bracket on top of the rear axle.

The shining area is new tape I used to patch the line

Hope this helps
