Bedroom slide access
Does anyone have experience of suggestions of how to access the area under the mattress of the street side bedroom slide? A neighbor alerted me to birds flying around and under the bedroom slide which was extended. I confirmed this and plugged the opening for the HWH ram for the slide. I removed one of the large drawers at the foot of the mattress slide and found an accumulation of bird nests at the head of the bed. It cannot be reached from the foot of the bed with the drawer removed. Is the floor of the bed that the mattress rests on easily removable if the mattress is slid toward the vanity?

Bedroom slide access
Will, we have a ‘05 38’ FDTS, I have open the area under our bed several times. First remove the mattress, there are many screws holding 2 pieces of plywood covering that area. Be careful, if you have live birds in there they will be able to fly into the coach! Remove the screws and raise the plywood. You will find the hydraulic ram in the middle of the two drawers. Below is a picture of what you will see.
Let me know if you have any questions. Also, we found several bottles of water that had jumped out of the drawers stuck behind the drawer.

Dr Dave nailed it--also a good time to check the hose connections and the wood screws holding the ram mounts to the bed frame and floor box/ drawer cabinet.....

Thanks for the information from both of you. The pictures were very helpful. This is our full time home and the bird nests have probably been there for some time.

good pictures, Dave, that area is identical to our 40' TSMD Apex. I opened ours about a month ago, just out of curiousity.... no birds, no water bottles, no nuttin', just dust.

Dr. Dave, I should probably start another thread but... my bed slide is coming in at the bottom and staying out at the top. I've been sitting on the bed to bring the slide in as a short term solution while we travel home. I'm thinking it's because we've been in the desert and traveled to rainy conditions the humidity may be a factor.

The first thing I would do is check the seals and lubricate them. It sounds like something is restricting the top portion of the slide. I would then open up the bed and make sure all the supports were properly attached.
